Learn how to step up your card making with a few simple techniques. The cards feature the NEW 2024-2026 Stampin’ Up! In Colors along with a new bundle of products called Attention Shoppers. These products will be available May 1, 2024.
Simple Techniques
First let’s talk about some of the simple techniques you can use to jazz up your cards! The first card features some simple stamping combined with ink blending and dry embossing. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the bag image across the white cardstock using black ink. Emboss the cardstock with your favorite embossing folder. For these cards, I am using the paint texture 3D embossing folder as it gave the bags a crinkled look. Once embossed, use a blending brush to blend different colors of ink over each bag.
The second card idea is created the same way as the first one. However, this time I added one more technique called paper piecing! If you haven’t seen this technique, check out my recent post HERE.
Attention Shoppers
As you may have noticed, I am using the new 2024-2026 In Color Collection to decorate the cards I am sharing with you today. However, I am also using a new bundle of products called Attention Shoppers. I really enjoyed playing around with the gift bag image in this set but there are many more fun images to play with.
For these cards, I focused on using the paper piecing technique. The background on the first card features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. The center layers include a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of white and a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Petunia Pop cardstock. The gift bags involve paper piecing some patterned paper on the stamped images. It was fun to just stagger them across the card front.
The second card idea also involves paper piecing with patterned paper. This time I used the shopping card die from the set to add a fun little element with the gift bags. These are fun and simple techniques you can use with supplies you may already have on hand.
