Today I have a variety of card ideas to share featuring the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. The paper has so many beautiful floral images which you can fussy cut and use in your card making. There are two full sheets of floral images! Of course, if you are not into fussy cutting, you can always use these card layouts with any supplies you have on hand. Die cut floral images would work fabulous with these card layouts.
Sympathy Card Ideas
The first couple of cards feature some of the beautiful white florals from the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. The card layouts add just the right touch of color to each of the cards. I chose to use either white or pear pizzazz cardstock for the base of the cards. The designs are simple yet stunning! The first card features two pieces of patterned paper measuring 1-1/2 x 3 inches. Simply adhere them to the corners of a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock as shown. Add a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of vellum and a 1-3/4 x 3-1/8 inch rectangular shape in the center of the card. Pop up the white floral with a few dimensionals and add a sentiment. Super simple!
The second card idea features the same beautiful white floral. However, this particular floral was on the edge of the DSP so part of it was cut off. I simply used that to my advantage and created a layout so that the cut off part of the flower was on the left edge of the card front. The layers on the cards include a 3-1/2 x 5 inch piece of embossed white cardstock and a 3 x 4 inch piece of DSP. Add the 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of vellum to the center. Adhere the floral off the left side of the card front. And, of course, add a sentiment.
Wonderful World
Let’s talk a little bit about the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper (DSP). This particular paper is one of the many items you can get for free with a qualify purchase during Stampin’ Up! Saleabration! Not only do you get the paper, but you also get the Wonderful World stamp set too. Yes, it comes as a bundle! Learn more about Saleabration HERE. There are so many wonderful ways to use this bundle too. Check out my latest post featuring the stamp set HERE.
The sympathy card features a bit more of the Wonderful World DSP in the background. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the green leaf style DSP and adhere it across the center of the white cardstock. Cut a 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of the yellow DSP and adhere to the left side of the card front. Add the vellum, floral and sentiment. Just gorgeous! I think this is one of my favorites!
The second card idea features a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of embossed white cardstock in the background. The floral is adhered to a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of yellow DSP with a bit of vellum behind it. It’s just a simple design but it really accents the purple floral well.
Thank You Cards
The next two card ideas showcase a few more of the floral images from the Wonderful World DSP. I decided to switch gears and create thank you cards instead of sympathy cards. In fact, all the card layouts I am featuring today can be used to create cards for really any occasion. The layout for the first card starts with a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP adhered to a 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Adhere to the card front as shown. Next, cut a 2 x 4 inch piece of the pink colored DSP and adhere to the card front. Add a bit of vellum, the floral and a greeting to finish off the card.
The second card layout features a 3-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of DSP in the background. Add a 1 x 4 inch piece of the DSP across the bottom part of the first piece. Cut a 2-3/4 inch square shape, add a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of vellum to the back and adhere to the card front. Pop up one of the beautiful floral images and embellish as desired.
Using Up Scraps
The last couple of card layouts feature some fun ways to use up scrap pieces of the Wonderful World DSP. The first card features 4 pieces of DSP measuring 3/4 x 3 inches. Stagger them across the card front and decorate as desired. The second card idea showcases a fun way to use small and large scrap pieces of DSP. The green piece is 2 x 3-3/4 inches. The yellow piece measures 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches. The final two floral pieces are 1-1/2 x 1 inch and 3-3/4 x 1 inch. Arrange all the pieces on the card front and decorate as desired.
I hope you enjoyed these card ideas and are inspired to use the layouts to create with any supplies you have on hand. Be sure to check out the replay of this week’s video to see the creation of a few of these cards in action. Have a fun and creative day my friends! ~ Lynn
