Easy Coloring Technique

Let’s switch gears today and focus on a fun and easy coloring technique you can use with your stamps. This technique enables you to quickly and easily add color to different parts of your stamp. The cards feature some of the beautiful floral images from the Wonderful World stamp set. However, this technique will work with any stamp set you may have on hand.

Easy Coloring Technique

Let’s start by talking about the coloring technique. The technique involves the use of sponge daubers to add color directly to your stamp image. As you can see, the floral image I am using for these cards is stamped in two different colors. This is easily achieved by using a sponge dauber to add a bit of purple color to the flowers. Simply ink up the sponge dauber and dab it onto the flower part of the image. Next, grab a green colored ink and another dauber. Sponge the green color on the stem and leaves of the flower using the inked-up dauber. Once you have added different colors of ink to the flower, stamp it on your cardstock. Super easy and a great way to add a variety of colors to your image.

The layout of these cards can also be used with any supplies you have on hand. Start by cutting a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of patterned paper. Adhere it to the left side of the card front. Next, cut a 3-1/2 x 3 inch piece of a different pattern of paper. Adhere it to the center right side of the card front. Cut a rectangular shape measuring 2-1/2 x 4 inches. You can also use the Deckled Rectangle Dies to create this piece. Use the easy coloring technique to stamp the image on the rectangular shape and then decorate the card as desired.

Wonderful World

The cards feature the Wonderful World stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This particular stamp is free with a qualify purchase during Stampin’ Up! Saleabration! Not only do you get the stamp set, but you also get a pack of the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. Cards created with the Wonderful World DSP feature the yellow patterned papers. But you can also use the Wonderful World stamp set on its own with any patterned papers. The second set of cards feature Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent papers and ink which are from the 2021-2023 In Color Collection. So, there are lots of possibilities with the Wonderful World Saleabration products.

This second card layout features a variety of different layers of patterned paper and vellum. Start with a 3 x 3-3/4 inch piece of patterned paper. Adhere it to a 3-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock and then adhere to the center of the card front. Add a 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of a different patterned paper. Cut a 1-3/4 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the floral image and greeting on the rectangular shape. Add a 2-1/4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of vellum behind the rectangular shape and adhere to the card front. Embellish as desired.

Using Up Scraps

The last couple of card ideas showcase a great way to use up scraps! The first card features the Wonderful World stamp set and DSP. The second card features the 2021-2023 In Colors and the Wonderful World stamp set. Both cards have the exact same layout and design. I simply switched out the colors to create a whole new look.

Wanna use up your scraps? Start with a 1-1/2 x 3 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the top left side of the card front. Next, cut a 2-1/4 x 3 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the top right side of the card front. The bottom piece of patterned paper measures 2 x 4 inches. It’s a super simple and fun layout that will work with any patterned papers.
