Hello Friends! Today I have 6 different cards to share featuring products from the Fine Art Floral Suite from Stampin’ Up! We are just days away from the launch of the NEW Stampin’ Up! January-June Mini Catalog! Wahoo!! And this particular product suite is one of the fabulous new products coming out! Now the cool thing about these card ideas is that they feature two card layouts. You can easily use your card layouts over and over again with different colors!
The Focal Point
Coming up with new card designs can be challenging. However, it’s one of my favorite things to do! I love to sit down with my supplies and just play around with different layouts. The key to coming up with a layout for my card really depends upon the focal point I want to use. So, in this case, my focal point is the large fine art floral image. That means I create my focal point first and then I design the rest of the card.
Each of the cards I am sharing today features a large floral image as the focal point. The stem is a stamped image while the flower itself is cut from a piece of the Fine Art Designer Series Paper. By creating the flower, it became much easier to make decisions on the card layout. The flower measures approximately 2-1/4 x 3-3/4 inches when assembled. This means the card layout must accommodate quite a large focal point.
The Card Layout
The first card layout features a little bit of the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper, the large floral focal point and some embellishments. Yes, the focal point takes up the majority of the space on the card front. Start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Cut a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, tear the long edge, and adhere it to the card front as shown. Adhere the large floral image and then embellish the card as desired.
The second card layout features the large floral on a fancy die cut shape. You can use any die cut shape as long as your floral image fits on it. In this case, we can use a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper in the background of the card. Cut a 2 x 4 inch piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhere it across the patterned paper. Next, go ahead and mount the floral image to the large die cut shape and adhere to the card front. Then embellish as desired.
Fine Art Floral Suite
As you can see, the card layouts are pretty easy to create and duplicate! So once you come up with some fun card designs, be sure to use them over and over again to create even more cards! As you can see by the 6 different cards I featured here today, it’s very easy to use the same card design with a variety of different colors!
And the Fine Art Floral Suite has many beautiful colors to choose from. These cards feature Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot, Flirty Flamingo and Bumblebee color combinations. Notice how the card design is the same, just the colors are different! Super fun! I love to use my card designs over and over again. Stunning cards Lynn. Thank you for sharing your card design ideas with us. I’m partial to the pink card. What is the background paper?
You’re welcome! The background paper is the new Fine Art Floral DSP.
