Layering is one of the easiest ways to add a little depth and dimension to your cards. So today I will show you some easy card ideas and how to step them up with the Stampin Up small blooms. It’s a simple way to step up your cards by adding layers.
The cards feature the Stampin Up Small Blooms punch and Thoughtful Blooms stamp set. Both are Salebration items that you can grab for FREE with a qualifying order. You can learn more about Salebration HERE.
Layering with Small Blooms Embellishments
Now besides the coordinating stamp set and punch, there is another product coming out on February 4, 2020 which coordinates with this set. So if you enjoy coordinating products, then you are going to love the NEW Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper! You can punch out the small blooms right from the patterned paper and use them on your cards. And these small blooms make such awesome little embellishments on your cards. Learn more about the new DSP and other coordination products HERE.
The first card features one of the flowery Pleased As Punch patterned papers as the focal point for the card. The patterned paper is cut at 2-1/2 x 3-5/8 inches and is adhered to the center of the largest Stitched So Sweetly Die cuts. The background is a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper adhered to a white card base. For the finishing touch, I simply added a greeting and used the small bloom shapes to add layers to the card.
The second card idea is a one layer card design. It features some simple stamping in the background using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set from Stampin Up. Then simply embellish the card with a few small blooms cut from the Pleased As Punch DSP. Super cute!
Layered Focal Point
These next two card ideas feature a few more layers but are still very simple card designs that you can easily replicate. Both cards feature a rectangular shape created with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies as well as a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the NEW Please as Punch DSP. Yes, the cards have very similar embellishments and layers. However, some slight changes in the design and orientation of the cards give us a whole new look!
The rectangular shape on the first card is approximately 2-1/2 x 3-5/8 inches and the shape on the second card is 2-3/4 x 4 inches. If you do not have the Stitched So Sweetly die set, you can certainly cut the rectangular shapes using a paper trimmer. The Thoughtful Blooms stamp set comes with all of the stem and leaf images you need to create the flowers for the card. Oh, and the flower pot, well it’s easy to make! The tailored tag punch works perfect! Simply punch out a piece of patterned paper (or cardstock) using the punch. Snip the shape in half and, voila, you now have two flower pots!
I hope you enjoyed these easy and fun little card ideas! Have a creative day! ~ Lynn
