Pop Up Slider Cards – Snowman Season

The holiday season will be here before you know it! So today I want to share two adorable Snowman Season Pop Up slider cards with you. Now these are the easiest slider cards you will ever make. Why?  Well, these slider cards feature the partial die cutting technique!

Partial Die Cutting Technique

In this week’s video, you will learn how to use the partial die cutting technique to make a pop up slider card. It’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to create a slider card.

Pop Up Slider Cards - Snowman Season

All die cutting requires the use of an embossing machine. Simply create a “sandwich” by placing the paper and the die in between two cutting plates before sending them through the embossing machine. However, with the partial die cutting technique, we will be leaving a section of the die exposed. Meaning that the top cutting plate will cover only part of the die that we want to cut out.  The other part of the die that is exposed (the part that is not covered by the top clear cutting plate) will not be cut out.

Now to create this slider card, I will show you how to use the partial die cutting technique to cut out a rectangular shape in the center of the paper. The stitched rectangle dies work perfect for this technique! There are so many fun ways to use the partial die cutting technique in card making. A few weeks ago I showcased this technique to create a unique card front with Magnolias, you can check it out HERE

Now the cards featured in this video showcase some fun new products from the 2019 Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog. The new holiday catalog goes live on September 4, 2019 which is exactly one week from today! Wahoo!

How adorable are these little snowman cards? The cool thing about the slider card is that you can create a totally different look simply by changing the orientation of the card. The first card features the portrait version with the slide moving up and down. The second card features the landscape version with the slide moving left and right. The only difference between the two cards is how they are decorated. The measurements for creating them are exactly the same.
