If you’ve ever wanted to make a pop-up card but thought it looked too complicated—this tutorial is for you! Today, I’m sharing the easiest pop-up card you’ll ever make, and it’s all thanks to the Pop Up Petals Dies from Stampin’ Up!
These dies do all the work for you. They cut and score everything perfectly, so you can skip the measuring and guesswork that usually comes with pop-up cards. The result? A professional-looking card that’s packed with WOW—without the stress!
Pop Up Design
First let’s talk about the inside pop-up design. The inside of the card is where all the magic happens. However, you do need to start with a card base to support the interactive elements for the inside of the card. The card base is simply a top folding A2 size card. Start with a 4-1/4 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 11-inch side at 5-1/2 inches to create the top folding card base. Decorate as desired.
To create the inside pop-up section, start with a 3-3/4 x 10-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 10-1/2 inch side at 5-1/4 inches. Place the cardstock on the platform of an embossing machine. Lay the Pop-Up Petals Die directly in the center of the cardstock and line up the arrows on the die with the score line. Run it through your embossing machine and, voila, the die cuts and scores the pop-up section for you!
Once you create the inside pop-up section, you are ready to decorate it! Be sure to watch the video for some tips on creating and assembling the inside pop-up section.

The Pop-Up Petals die set coordinates with the Pop Up Petals stamp set. This new bundle of products is perfect for creating cards for any occasion. However, as you can see, the pop-up die can be used with other products.
Since I wanted to use the die to create Christmas cards, I paired it with products from the Traditions of Christmas Suite. I used products from this suite to create my pop-up cards for the holidays. So don’t be afraid to use these dies with other supplies.
