The September 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit is called With Love & Gratitude. The kit contains all the supplies you need to create 8 note cards and packaging. In this post, I will focus on some alternate ways to use the exclusive stamp set and the kit supplies to create a variety of beautiful standard size cards!
Paper Pumpkin Elements
This month’s paper pumpkin kit features 8 note cards with coordinating envelopes as well as 8 coordinating bags (or packaging). I decided to cut apart all the note cards and bags which came in the kit to create a variety of standard size cards. All the cards I am sharing with you today are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches in size when closed.
When you cut apart the note cards, envelopes and treat bags, you can use them just like patterned paper to create some beautiful cards! These first cards showcase the linen style paper (from the bags) as well as the lost lagoon colored paper from the note cards.
The first card features one of the treat bags cut down to 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 inches. Be sure to cut this piece from the center of the bag which has the gold foil banner. Add the banner to the center of a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and then decorate it with the elements from the kit.
To create the second card, start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut down one of the Lost Lagoon note cards to 3-1/3 x 4-1/4 inches and adhere it across the center of the card front. Next, cut a 3-1/2 X 4-3/4 inch piece of the linen style paper (from one of the treat bags). Stamp the pumpkin image on the bottom of the linen paper using Crumb Cake ink. Adhere to the card front and decorate as desired with the kit elements.
Pumpkin Cards
The next two card layouts again feature the use of the note card and treat bag papers from the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. However, this time I also included a bit of the beautiful paper from the note card envelopes. Yes, you can cut apart those envelopes in the kit and use them as paper to create some standard size cards!
To create the first card, start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Emboss the front of the card base using the NEW Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder (or any other embossing folder you have on hand). Cut a 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of one of the note cards. Next cut a 3-3/8 x 2-5/8 inch piece of the linen paper from one of the bags. Adhere to the card front, as shown, and then decorate with a variety of elements from the kit.
Let’s talk about the layout for the second card idea. Start by adhering a 3 x 4-3/4 inch piece of the linen style paper to the left side of a Crumb Cake card base. Next, cut apart one of the envelopes to create a 3-3/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of decorative paper. Adhere this piece off the right side of the card front. Cut out a 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 inch square shape from a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. You can also use the Stylish Shapes dies to create this square piece. For the finishing touch, decorate the card with a variety of different elements from the kit.
Floral Spray Cards
The last two card ideas feature the beautiful floral sprays and gold elements from the 2023 September Paper Pumpkin kit. For the first card, start by cutting a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece from one of the note cards. Adhere the paper down the center of the of card front as shown. Cut a 3 x 2-1/2 inch banner from one of the treat bags. Adhere this piece to the card front as shown. Embellish with a variety of elements from the kit.
The last card idea features the same size banner style paper as the first. This time I changed the orientation of the banner. Start by cutting a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the note cards. Adhere this piece down the left side of the card front as shown. Next adhere the banner and then decorate as desired.
