Easy Gift Card Holder Ideas – Painted Christmas

Today I have some easy gift card holder ideas to share with you. Learn how to quickly and easily change a standard card base into a gift card holder!
You can create two gift card holders, portrait and landscape style, from one 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. There are actually 4 different ways you can create these gift card holders depending on how you cut the 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. Let’s take a look at how to create them!

5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch Card Base

The first two gift card holder ideas were created from a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Basically you cut a standard 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock, in half at 5-1/2 inches, down the 11 inch side. You will end up with two pieces of cardstock measuring 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 1-1/2 and 4-1/4 inches to create the card base.

You can create two gift card holders: Portrait and/or Landscape Style! This first gift card holder was decorated in landscape style. The 1-1/2 inch scored section is for the gift card holder. Simply fold that section towards the inside of the card and adhere the sides down with a bit of glue. Use a 1-inch circle punch to create a little notch in the center of that section. Then simply slide in your gift card and decorate as desired!

The second gift card holder idea features the exact same measurements as the landscape style card. The only difference is that I decorated it in portrait style. 4-1/4 x 11 inch Card Base

The last two gift card holder ideas were created from a 4-1/4 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. Basically you cut a standard 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock, in half at 4-1/4 inches, down the 8-1/2 inch side. You will end up with two pieces of cardstock measuring 4-1/4 x 11 inches. Score the 11 inch side at 1-1/2 and 5-1/2 inches to create the card base.

Again, you can create two gift card holders: Portrait and/or Landscape Style! This first gift card holder was decorated in portrait style. The 1-1/2 inch scored section is for the gift card holder. Simply fold that section towards the inside of the card and adhere the sides down with a bit of glue. Use a 1-inch circle punch to create a little notch in the center of that section. Then simply slide in your gift card and decorate as desired!

The second gift card holder idea features the exact same measurements as the portrait style card. The only difference is that I decorated it in landscape style.
