4 Ways to Use the Christmas Pinecone Dies in Card Making

Today I have 4 different card ideas to share featuring products from the Painted Christmas suite. This beautiful suite of products had two different stamp and dies as well as some gorgeous designer paper. I will show you some fun ways to use the Christmas Pinecone dies in your cardmaking.

Christmas Pinecone Dies

The first way you can use the Christmas Pinecone dies in your card making is to use them as one large piece. As you can see, the die cut pine bough covers the entire card front! There are two different pine bough dies in this set. Cut one from Evening Evergreen cardstock and the other from Soft Succulent cardstock. Then simply layer them together and adhere to the card front. Cut out the solid pinecone shapes from Crumb Cake cardstock and the overlay, detailed shapes, from Early Espresso cardstock. Layer the pinecone pieces together and adhere them to the pine boughs. Then simply embellish as desired.

Now before I adhered the pine boughs, I cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Painted Christmas DSP for the card front. The cards are identical in design, the only difference is the patterned paper I added to the background. The first card has some red berries in the background. The second card simply has a pinecone patterned DSP. Changing the background of the card enabled me to change out the colors of the ribbon and sentiment. It’s a simple way to change the look of the card.

Partial Christmas Pinecones

The second way you can use the Christmas Pinecone Dies in your card making is to create the large pine bough and then cut it apart into three different pieces. The pine bough is designed in such a way that it’s super easy to cut it apart.

You can clearly see where each cluster of pinecones will be on the bough so just cut apart the bough so you end up three pieces, each with a cluster of pinecones. I recommend watching the video below to see how easy it is to cut apart the bough.

Once you cut apart the bough, you can create three cards, each showcasing a different pine bough spray. They make super awesome embellishments for your cards! Change out the patterned paper in the background to create a whole new look too! I really like the pinecone patterned paper but I do like the pop of red with the berry paper. Which one is your favorite?
