Spring is here! So it’s only fitting that put a little Springtime Joy into our card making for this week! And today I have a One Sheet Wonder template you can use to create 7 quick and simple cards. Now this one sheet wonder involves the use of 4 different 6 x 6 inch pieces of patterned paper. I suppose I should have called it a four-sheet wonder. However, even though we are using four sheets of patterned paper, each sheet of paper will be cut with the exact same measurements.
One Sheet Wonder Template
First let’s talk about the cutting template for the one sheet wonder. The template is perfect for patterned papers which are 6 x 6 inches in size. Basically we are cutting the patterned paper to create a 1, 2 and 3 inch wide piece. So this template is as easy as 1-2-3! Start by cutting off a 3/4 inch wide piece from the bottom of the paper. Next cut the paper, on the 6 inch side, at 1 inch and then at 2 inches. You will be left with a 1 x 5-1/4, 2 x 5-1/4 and 3 x 5-1/4 inch piece. Cut a total of four sheets of 6 x 6 inch patterned paper using the exact same template.
The first card features the four 1 x 5-1/4 inch pieces of patterned paper. Each piece is adhered, side by side, on the card front to create a colorful background for the card. The focal point showcases one of the adorable images from the Springtime Joy stamp set. Stamp the image on a 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock using black ink. Color in the image with your favorite coloring tools and embellish as desired.
Two Inch Wide DSP
The next two Springtime Joy card ideas feature the 2 inch wide pieces created from the One Sheet Wonder Template. Take the 2 x 5-1/4 inch pieces created from the template and make a cut on the 5-1/4 inch side at 3 inches. This will enable you to create a 2 x 3 inch and 2 x 2-1/4 inch piece. Cut all of the 2 x 5-1/4 inch pieces in this manner.
The first card showcases the 2 x 3 inch pieces layered across the card front. The second card features the 2 x 2-1/4 inch pieces arranged to create a square shaped design on the card front. Both cards feature the use of the same type of focal point. For the finishing touch, embellish as desired.
Three Inch Wide DSP
The last four Springtime Joy card ideas feature the 3 inch wide and 3/4 inch wide patterned paper pieces created from the One Sheet Wonder Template. Simply adhere the 3 x 5-1/4 inch piece to the left side of the card front. Take the 3/4 inch piece and adhere it to the right side of the card front. I recommend using the patterned on the front and back of the DSP.
Since we cut up four sheets of patterned paper, you can make a total of 4 cards with these pieces. The focal point remains the same with the addition of a scalloped square shape. For the finishing touch, embellish as desired.
