6 Snowflake Splendor Christmas Cards

Let’s talk about non-traditional Christmas colors today! Traditional Christmas colors are red and green. However, there are so many other colors out there that you can use to create beautiful Christmas cards. And I have 6 different Christmas card ideas to share featuring some non-traditional colors.

These cards feature the new Stampin’ Up! Snowflake Wishes Bundle and the beautiful Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper.  It’s the designer paper that inspired me to create a variety of Christmas Cards in non-traditional colors!

Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper

So let’s start by talking about the non-traditional Christmas colors first. The colors in the Snowflake Splendor DSP inspired me to create these Christmas cards in non-traditional colors. The colors include Highland Heather, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. These colors go so well with the snowflakes in the product suite and really reflect the spirit of the season.

These first two card ideas are very easy to create and the layouts are a great way to showcase your patterned papers. The first card simply features two different pieces of patterned paper layered together to create the backdrop for the card. The second card features different patterned paper pieces adhered across the card front. It’s a great way to use up scraps! The cards are simply embellished with a few snowflakes and some faceted gems. Super simple and fun to create! You can find all of the measurements for these cards in the printable tutorial noted below.

Stepped Up Card Ideas

These next two cards showcase some very simple ways to step up your cards by adding texture and layers. The Snowflake Splendor suite includes a variety of fun products you ca use to add texture and layers. The large label shaped die in the bundle is a great way to create a layered focal point for the card. In the first card, I used the negative space created from the snowflake label die to showcase the Snowflake Splendor DSP.

The second card features the use of the Winter Snow Embossing folder. Embossing is such a quick and simple way to add texture to the background of your cards. Both layouts feature a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. The only different between the two cards is the type of layers or texture that was added. One features embossing the other features a die cut shape.

Unique Card Layouts

The last two card ideas feature some simple yet unique layouts. The cards really highlight the beautiful non-traditional Christmas colors in the Snowflake Splendor DSP. The first card is a fun little angle card design and a great way to use up scrap pieces of paper. Simply adhere the strips of paper, on an angle, across a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. I recommend adhering the strips so that they hang over the side of the card stock. That way you can just trim off the excess paper from the side of the cardstock.

The second card features multiple layers of patterned paper and a bit of paper tearing. However, it is super simple to create so be sure to watch the video for some tips on creating the layers. I love the look of paper tearing especially on Christmas cards. And if you use white cardstock, it gives the effect of snow covered hills.
