Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper

Since I have a fascination with pretty patterned papers, I was immediately drawn to the new Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. This pack of DSP has 4 different paper patterns that coordinate with 3 different punches in the 2020 Mini Catalog: (1) Heart Punch Pack, (2) Tulip Builder Punch, and (3) Builder Umbrella Punch. Plus, one of the patterns coordinates with the Small Bloom Punch from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

The card ideas that I am sharing today feature the heart and small bloom shapes from the Pleased As Punch DSP pack. However, don’t worry, I will be sharing some additional card ideas featuring the umbrella and tulip shapes from this patterned paper pack in some upcoming posts!

Pleased As Punch ~ Coordination Product Release. 5 Quick and Simple Card Ideas

These cards feature one of the pretty heart patterned papers adhered to the card front and embellished with few of the small blooms. As you can see, there are a variety of different colors that you can choose from! The colors showcased on these cards include: Highland Heather, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana. I decided to go with a monochromatic card design again.

The cards are super simple to create. Start with a standard card base by cutting a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of card stock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Next cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch strip of hearts from the Pleased As Punch DSP. Adhere the DSP across the center of the card front. Then simply embellish the card with a few small blooms (punches from the DSP) and a little greeting.

Now you can also use the patterned paper to create different embellishments for your cards. The next 5 cards feature the heart shapes punched out from one of the patterned papers in the Pleased As Punch DSP pack.

Pleased As Punch ~ Coordination Product Release. 5 Quick and Simple Card Ideas

The Pleased as Punch DSP coordinates with the heart punch pack from the Heartfelt Bundle so I decided to use the bundle to create these cards. I again used a monochromatic card design. Start by punching out one of the heart shapes from the patterned paper. Then, using the scalloped heart punch, create a heart “outline.” To do this, simply punch out a regular heart shape in a piece of cardstock. Then slide the scalloped heart punch over the heart shaped “hole” in the cardstock and punch it out. You will end up with a thin heart shape “outline” to use on the card. Finally, punch out a scalloped heart to serve as a matte behind the DSP heart. Layer the hearts together on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white card stock, as shown, and embellish with a few small blooms.

Quick and Simple Card Ideas

There are so many fun ways to use the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Papers! I love the versatility of the papers and the coordination with other products in the Stampin’ Up! catalogs. You are definitely going to want to grab a few packs of this paper on February 4th! And I highly recommend you grab them right away! Remember, they are only available while supplies last!

I hope you enjoyed these quick and simple card ideas. I can’t wait to share more fun coordination products and card ideas with you! Have a creative day ~ Lynn
