Today I have a few more snow globe shaker cards to share with you featuring the Still Scenes stamp set. Now the snow globes are absolutely stunning with the Still Scenes stamp set. However, they also work well with just about any stamp set. Last week I shared some adorable little snowmen shaker cards featuring the snow globes. You can check it out HERE
Snow Globe with Stamped Images
The bundle of products featured in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog, with the snow globes, is called Still Scenes. Now the stamp set has some fun images your can use to decorate your snow globe card but the die set is where the magic happens. You will have a tough time trying to create the snow globe opening in your patterned paper or cardstock without the die.
This first card features one of the stamp images from the set inside the snow globe. Start with a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock for the base of the cards. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of one of your favorite patterned papers; use the snow globe die to cut out the center of the paper. Next, stamp the image from the Still Scenes stamp set on a 3 x 3 inch piece of white paper and color it in with your favorite coloring tools. I used some stampin’ blends to add a bit of color.
Once you have the image stamped and colored, add a “pile” of snowflake sequins and some Ice Glitter to the center of the image. Peel off the adhesive from the back of the snow globe dome and adhere it over the image and the “pile” of sequins and glitter. Now peel off the adhesive on the front of the snow globe and adhere the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper over the top and then adhere it to your card front. For the finishing touch, decorate as desired.
Snow Globe with Die Shapes
Besides the snow globe die, there are a variety of other beautiful die cut shapes in the set that you can feature inside the snow globe.
This second card features a few of the die cut shapes inside the snow globe. Now I did add a few dabs of embossing paste to the trees to create the look of snow. It’s not necessary but it did give it a nice touch. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock and layer the trees and deer together. I recommend popping them up on the cardstock with a few dimensionals. The process for adding the shaker elements and the snow globe is the same as above. You can also decorate the inside of your card using a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of the same patterned paper you used on the front of the card.
Choosing Your Patterned Paper
One of the fun things about the Still Scenes Bundle is that it works well with a variety of patterned papers. The cards I have to share today feature some of the fun patterns from the Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) as well as the Feels Like Frost DSP. I simply cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper
Besides creating the beautiful snow globe cards, you can also use the die cut pieces to create another beautiful card. The card featured on the right showcases a fun way to use the circular shapes leftover from creating the the snow globes. I simply arranged three of them on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and added a focal point.
There are so many beautiful patterned papers in the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog to choose from. But why choose just one? You can get some of every paper pattern in the catalog simply by participating in a paper share. Not sure what that is? You can learn more about my holiday catalog paper and ribbon shares HERE
