Notes of Spring Card Ideas

If you’re ready to welcome spring with fresh, cheerful projects, you’re going to love today’s inspiration! I’m sharing 6 cards featuring the Notes of Spring stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This set is as sweet and versatile as it sounds. It works with a variety of different patterned papers as you will see in this blog post.

Notes of Spring

The Notes of Spring stamp set features a variety of realistic yet adorable nature images and sentiments that make it easy to create sweet cards in just minutes. It’s one of those sets you’ll reach for again and again because it works beautifully with a variety of patterned papers.

These first two card ideas feature the duck (or goose) image. For these cards I am using patterned papers from two different packs: Mixed Up Patterns and Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Papers. The blue and yellow colors really work well together. All the die cut shapes for each of the cards come from the Nested Essentials die set.

The fun thing about this stamp set is it involves a two-step stamping process to create and color in the image. For these cards, I stamped the outline of the duck using Basic Gray ink. Next, I stamped the color into the outline image using Darling Duckling. You can add color to the beak (or bill) with the dark shade of a Pumpkin Pie stampin’ blend. Here are the cardstock and patterned paper layers for each of the cards:

  • Card #1: Thick Basic White A2 size card base, 1-1/4 x 5″ yellow patterned paper, 2-1/2 x 5″ embossed white cardstock, and 2 x 3-3/4″ floral pattern
  • Card#2: Thick Basic White A2 size card base, 2 x 4-3/4″ yellow patterned paper, 2-1/2 x 3-3/4″ floral pattern, and a 2 x 3-3/4″ piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

Fawn Card Ideas

The next two Notes of Spring card ideas feature the fawn image from the set. Stamp the outline of the image using Early Espresso ink. Add color to the image with by using Crumb Cake ink with the coordinating “solid” fawn image. It creates a realistic yet adorable stamped image.

For these cards, I chose some of the old olive colored papers from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack. It creates a subtle background for the fawn image. You can stamp some of the foliage images directly on the patterned paper using Old Olive ink. Here are the measurements for the cardstock and patterned paper layers on the cards:

Card#1: Early Espresso A2 size card base, 4 x 5-1/4″ Crumb Cake cardstock, 1-1/8 x 4-1/4″ green patterned paper, and 2-3/4 x 4-1/4″ white/green patterned paper

Card#2: Early Espresso A2 size card base, 5 x 3-3/4″ Crumb Cake cardstock, 4-3/4 x 3-1/2″ white/green patterned paper, and 2 x 3-3/4″ green patterned paper.

Bunny Card Ideas

The last two Notes of Spring card ideas feature the cute little bunny image from the set. This image works so well with flowery patterned papers. For these cards, I am using the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper pack.

The outline of the bunny image is stamped on a very vanilla die cut shape using Early Espresso ink. Add color using Crumb Cake ink and the coordinating “solid” image from the stamp set. Here are the measurements for the cardstock and patterned paper layers on these cards:

  • Card#1: Very Vanilla A2 size card base, 3-1/2 x 4″ striped patterned paper and a 2 x 5-1/2″ floral patterned paper.
  • Card #2: Very Vanilla A2 size card base, 3-3/4 x 5″ floral patterned paper and a 2-3/4″ (or 2-1/2″) x 3-1/2″ piece of the striped patterned paper.
