Simple Cards
Now that you know a little bit about the Advent Calendar, let’s take a look at some of the fun things you can make with the crafting supplies! While the decorative advent calendar box has a Christmas theme, the supplies inside are for everyday crafting.
The first couple of card ideas feature some of the beautiful, patterned papers. Most of the card layouts feature Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, Pretty in Pink and/or Old Olive. Whether you have the advent calendar or not, feel free to use these card layouts with any supplies you have on hand.
The cardstock layer for the card is 3-3/4 x 5.” The patterned paper layers are 3-1/2 x 3″ and 3-1/2 x 1-1/2.” Decorate as desired.

The second set of cards feature some of the ephemera shapes from the Advent calendar. The layout might look familiar to you as I have used it before. The background features a 1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock. Add a 2 or 2-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of patterned paper. The focal points can be created with any of the ephemera or die cut postage pieces. Layer the focal point onto a 1-1/2 x 3-1/2″ piece of cardstock or patterned paper.

Ink Blending
The next two card ideas feature a bit of ink blending. The advent calendar comes with a variety of decorative masks! The masks have two different types of flowers you can create. The ink blending, for both cards, is done on a 3-3/4 x 5″ piece of white cardstock.
For the first card, I used Misty Moonlight, Secret Sea, Old Olive, and Darling Duckling ink. Of course, the color combinations possibilities are endless! Cut a 3-3/4 x 1-1/4″ piece of patterned paper for the center. Add a greeting and embellish as desired.

For the second card I used Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo, and Old Olive to ink blend the flowers. Cut a 3-3/4 x 1″ piece of patterned paper and adhere to the bottom of the white cardstock. Add a greeting and tuck a half of one the scalloped label shapes behind greeting.
Simple Layering
For the next couple of card ideas, I am featuring the patterned papers, die cut elements, ephemera and embellishments from the advent calendar. These are simple card ideas and a great way to showcase your patterned papers.

The first two card ideas feature the 3 x 4″ patterned cards from the advent calendar. You can use these cards for scrapbooking or cardmaking. Dress up the 3 x 4″ pieces by layering some coordinating scraps papers on the bottom. I used a variety of embossed pieces and patterned papers to create 1/2″ layers. Embellish as desired with the different elements from the advent calendar.

These next two card ideas feature a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. For the blue card, cut one of the gold labels, in half, and add one to each side of the patterned paper. The pink card has a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock piece behind the patterned paper. The backdrop for the focal point is one of the 3 x 4″ embossed pieces torn across the bottom. Create the focal point with different ephemera or stamped images.
Using Up Scraps
The last two card ideas feature a fun and simple way to use up scrap papers! Start with a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of white cardstock. Cut your scraps into 1 x 1″ squares. You will need 8 full squares and 2 half squares (cut diagonally). Arrange the pieces on the cardstock as shown.

You can really decorate this card any way you like! I kept it simple with a little greeting. a few die cut pieces and puffy embellishments. Keep in mind you can use this design with any scrap papers you have on hand.
Video Tutorial
This last card idea features a fun way to use the bag of loose embellishments from the advent calendar. They can be used to create a really pretty shaker card! I recommend watching the replay of the live stream to see the creation of this card in action!

These are just a few of the fun things you can do with the products in this advent calendar. And I have plenty of products left to continue creating! All the card ideas feature products from the advent calendar. The only additional supplies you need are cardstock and ink.
I hope you enjoyed these project ideas! Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
