The Design
First let’s talk about the inside pop-up card design. Basically, this is an accordion style fun fold card which uses patterned paper. Two of the folds, on the inside of the card, create a nice little pop-up section to add an element of surprise! This card design is also a great way to showcase both sides of your pretty patterned papers.

Patterned Paper Pop Up
Now let’s talk about how to create the fun fold pop up section for this card. Start with a 5-1/4 x 12″ piece of patterned paper. Place the paper on a scoring board/tool with the 12-inch side at the top. The pattern for the outside of the card should be face down. The pattern for the inside of the card should be face up. Score the paper at 1, 4, 6, and 8 inches.
Accordion fold the patterned paper and adhere the 4 x 5-1/4″ section of the fun fold to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock. Notice the little pop-up section on the inside of this fun fold card. This little pop-up section serves as a great place to add a little element of surprise!
