Today I have a variety of card ideas to share which feature a NEW bundle called Sparkling Snowflakes. This is just one of the many fabulous new products coming out in the Stampin’ Up! 2023 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog which launches on September 6th. I will also give you a sneak peek of this month’s tutorial which also features 6 cards created with the Sparkling Snowflakes Bundle.
Sparkling Snowflakes
The Sparkling Snowflakes Bundle consists of a stamp set and a coordinating tag topper punch. I have been enjoying this bundle a lot! If you love snowflake images, then this bundle is definitely a must have. The first two cards feature the sparkling snowflakes tag topper punch. I really wanted to show you some fun things to do with this punch besides just creating a tag. You can use it to create the focal point for your card.
The tag topper punch has a 2-inch-wide base. So, you can make the tags as long or as short as you want to. For the first card, I started with a 2 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. I used the tag topper punch to create the snowflake on both ends of the white cardstock. Stamp a snowflake and a greeting to create a super simple focal point.

The second card features a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Simply punch the snowflake design into the top and bottom of the navy cardstock to create the focal point piece. This time the focal point features a bit of heat embossed snowflakes and a little greeting.
You might have noticed that both cards feature a blue and white background. To create this look, use some of the white center paper from the annual catalog. Simply emboss the paper with the quatrefoil embossing folder and then lightly sand the embossed design. The sanding allows the white center of the paper to peek through the dark blue.
The white center piece used on the first card measures 4 x 5-1/4 inches. For the second card, the side pieces measure 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches. It’s a super fun and simple way to create a stunning background for any card.
Non-Traditional Colors
The second set of cards feature the sparkling snowflake stamp images with some non-traditional colors. I love to use non-traditional colors with snowflakes. One of the fun things about the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set is that each of the three detailed snowflakes have a coordinating solid image. This gives you options for using two-step stamping with the snowflakes.
You can simply stamp the detailed snowflake image to create your cards. Or, you can use two-step stamping by using the detailed and solid snowflake images together. These cards feature two-step stamping and the stamp off technique with each of the three snowflakes. Be sure to watch the video below to see the stamp off technique in action!

Plus, each of these cards showcase the Fresh Freesia white center paper! Not only can you emboss and lightly sand this paper to reveal the white center, but you can also tear it. The torn paper really shows off the white center nicely. The first features a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the Fresh Freesia white center paper embossed and torn. The second card features a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of torn white center paper on the edges of the card.
