Thanks a Bunch Card Ideas

Everything is coming up carrots today! I have 4 different card ideas to share featuring the Thanks a Bunch stamp set from Stampin’ Up! It’s a super fun little stamp set to play with and it coordinates perfectly with the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper (DSP). The stamp set and DSP are some of the many different items you can choose for free with a qualifying purchase during Saleabration!

Thanks a Bunch Card Ideas

First let’s talk about some simple card layouts featuring the Thanks a Bunch stamp set. This set has a variety of carrot images and some fun sayings which go along with the set. All of the card ideas I am sharing today feature a thank you greeting as it is the greeting I use most often. However, there are many other greetings in the set which you can use in your card making. The greetings feature a bit of heat embossing. The main three colors used for stamping are Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Granny Apple Green.

These first two card ideas feature some simple stamping and layouts. To create the layout for the first card, start by stamping the small carrot top image down the right side of the card front using Granny Apple Green ink. Cut a 3 x 3-1/4 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the left side of the card. Stamp the carrots on a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Add a little scrap piece of vellum to the right side of the white cardstock and adhere to the card front.

The second card idea features a bit of paper tearing and a fun way to use scraps of DSP. Start by cutting two pieces of DSP at 1 x 5-1/4 inches and adhere one to each side of the card front. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Tear both sides of the cardstock. Create the carrot focal point in the center of the white cardstock and then adhere to the card front. The white cardstock will overlap onto the DSP.

Simple Technique

The next couple of cards feature a simple masking technique and a great way to use the left-over scraps! You can create two cards when using this one technique! Start by creating a “mask” using 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Cut a large rectangular shape into the white cardstock. Save the rectangular shape for the second card. Use the negative space, the window which was left in the white cardstock from cutting out the rectangular shape. Lay that white cardstock over your card front. Use a blending brush to add ink around the outer edges of the rectangular shape. Remove the mask and decorate the card as desired. I recommend watching the video to see this technique in action.

The second card idea features the use of the rectangular shape which was left over from creating the mask. Start with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4-1/4 x 3 inch piece of DSP and adhere it across the card front. Create the carrot focal point on the rectangular shape. Add a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Mango Melody cardstock to the left side of the rectangular shape and adhere to the card front. Embellish as desired.
