Today I have another fun template to share using the cut and shuffle technique. This technique enables you to make 4 card layouts at once! The cards feature products from the Country Floral Lane Suite from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any patterned paper or supplies you have on hand with this technique.
Cut and Shuffle Technique
First let’s talk about the cutting technique. Start by choosing 4 different patterned papers which coordinate well with each other. Cut each of the 4 patterned papers down to 4 x 5-1/4 inches. You will be cutting all 4 pieces of patterned paper at the same time! Stack the papers together and place them in your paper trimmer with the 4-inch side at the top of the trimmer. Line up the left edge of the papers at 1-1/2 inches and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces of patterned paper measuring 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches and 4 pieces measuring 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches.

Take the 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch pieces. Place them in your paper trimmer on the 5-1/4 inch side. Line them up at the 2-inch mark and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces measuring 1-1/2 x 2 inches and the other pieces measuring 1-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches. These are the pieces which will be used on the left side of each of the cards.
Take the 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch pieces. Place them in your paper trimmer on the 5-1/4 inch side. Line them up at the 3-1/4 inch mark and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces measuring 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches and 4 pieces measuring 2-1/2 x 2 inches. These are the pieces which will be used on the right side of each of the cards.
Once you have cut all the pieces, then simply shuffle them around to create the layout for the 4 different cards. The key to this technique is to ensure that each card showcases all 4 paper patterns.
Card Ideas
Now that you have cut and shuffled the papers to create the layout, you are ready to assemble the cards! Notice how each card features all 4 patterns. However, the size of the patterned paper pieces are different on each card.

For example, let’s look at the floral pattern on each of these cards. On the first card, the floral pattern is in the lower right corner. For the second card, the floral pattern is in the upper right corner. The third card features that floral pattern in the upper left corner. And the last card features the floral pattern in the lower left corner. Every piece of patterned paper is in a different location on each of the cards. The cut and shuffle technique enables you to use the same layout for each of the cards but the cards are different due to the size and location of the patterned paper.
