Learn how to use this easy design technique to make 4 cards at once! The cards feature the Sentimental Park Bundle and Regency Park Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any patterned paper or supplies you have on hand with this technique.
Cutting Technique
First let’s talk about the cutting technique. Start by choosing 4 different patterned papers which coordinate well with each other. Cut each of the 4 patterned papers down to 3-3/4 x 5 inches. You will be cutting all 4 pieces of patterned paper at the same time! So make sure you have a new blade in your paper trimmer! Place the papers in your paper trimmer so the 3-3/4 inch side is at the top of the trimmer. Line up the papers at the 2 inch mark and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces of patterned paper measuring 2 x 5 inches and 4 pieces measuring 1-3/4 x 5 inches.

Take the 2 x 5 inch pieces. Place them in your paper trimmer on the 5 inch side. Line them up at the 2 inch mark and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces measuring 2 x 2 inches and the other pieces measuring 3 x 2 inches. These are the pieces which will be used on the left side of each of the cards.

Take the 1-3/4 x 5 inch pieces. Place them in your paper trimmer on the 5 inch side. Line them up at the 1-1/2 inch mark and make the cut. You will end up with 4 pieces measuring 1-1/2 x 1-3/4 inches and the 4 pieces measuring 3-1/2 x 1-3/4 inches. These are the pieces which will be used on the right side of each of the cards.
Design Technique
Now that you have all the patterned paper pieces cut, you are ready to create the 4 cards. The actual layout for the cards is identical. You will be using all 4 patterns on each of the cards. The only difference between each card is the size and placement of each piece of patterned paper.

For example, notice how the floral pattern is in a different position on each of these 4 cards. It is also a different size on each of the 4 cards. Since we cut all 4 pieces of patterned paper at the same time, you can easily shuffle the pieces around to create 4 cards which showcase the 4 different patterned papers. The cards will have the exact same layout yet the patterns will be in different positions on each card. I recommend watching this week’s video to see the cutting and designing technique in action!
