Today I have a variety of card ideas to share featuring the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Sending Good Thoughts. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 9 cards. This month I decided to create a variety of cards featuring the exclusive stamp set from the kit and a few of my own supplies. Plus, I am featuring a simple masking technique that works perfect with this stamp set!
Paper Pumpkin Kit Cards
The July 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit contains all of the materials to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Here is a sneak peek of the 9 cards from the kit! Yes, I actually did use all the kit materials to create the cards!

Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the projects. The stamp set in the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit features 10 different images you can use to make the kit projects and for additional card making. The alternative card ideas I have to share today feature the exclusive stamp set and a few of my own supplies.
Simple Masking Technique
Let’s first talk about a simple masking technique you can use to create this look on any card. Start with a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock (any color) and tear it in half down the center of the short side. You will end up with two torn pieces measuring 5-1/4 inches long. Next, cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Lay the torn cardstock across the top and bottom of the white cardstock. The torn edges should be facing the middle of the card. Use washi tape to secure the torn cardstock to your workspace. You can even add a bit of adhesive to the back of the white cardstock so it does not move when we add color and stamp images.

Using a blending brush or sponge, add color to the white cardstock in between the torn pieces. Ink up a few of the images from the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit and stamp them in between the torn pieces (over the colored area). Once you finish the coloring and stamping, remove the masks! And, voila, you have a fun background which you can decorate any way you want.
Sending Good Thoughts
Now that you understand the basic concept of masking, you can use it in a variety of ways in your card making. The next set of cards feature the use of one of the torn pieces of paper to create a mask on the left side of the 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Lay the torn paper over the center of the white cardstock so the torn edge is facing the left side.

Using the blending brush or sponge to add color across the left side of the white cardstock, then stamp a few images. Notice how you can add one or more colors to the masked area. The possibilities really are endless. Remove the mask and decorate as desired.

The last two card ideas feature some other fun ways to mask and decorate your card. You can mask off just about anything to create a super fun look on your cards. Be sure to watch the replay of my Sunday morning video to see the creation of these cards and the masking in action!
Paper Pumpkin Program
As you can see, there are a variety of different things you can create with the stamp set and materials in each Paper Pumpkin kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So, I highly recommend becoming a subscriber, so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE. Check out some of the past paper pumpkin kits HERE.
