As you can see, I am on a roll creating a variety of different masculine style fun fold cards. Father’s Day is right around the corner and there is no better way to send a little love than with a handmade card. And this handmade card has an inside diamond pop up section that is sure to brighten his day! And, of course, you can use this pop-up card idea for any occasion and with any supplies you have on hand.
Creating the Diamond Pop Up
First let’s talk about how to create the inside diamond pop up section. Both of the card ideas feature the use of a 6 x 6 inch piece of patterned papers. I recommend using patterned paper as it will make the card less bulky. Score two sides of the 6 x 6 inch piece of patterned paper at 3 inches. You are basically creating 3 x 3 inch scored sections on the paper. The last score line you need to make is diagonally, from corner to corner, on one side of the paper.
Fold on all the score lines to create the diamond fun fold section for the inside of the card. The diagonally scored sections will fold down flat inside the card. I recommend watching the video to see the creation of this pop-up section in action. You will also learn some tips on how to adhere it to the inside of the card.
Masculine Theme
Now that you know how to create the inside diamond pop-up section of the card, you can decorate the front of the card. The cards I am sharing today feature a variety of products from the Stampin’ Up! He’s the Man Suite. One of my favorite things about this product suite is the Designer Series Paper. I love the different patterns and the two sheets of elements that come in the paper pack. Typically, I use a scissors to cut out different images from my Designer Series Paper to use as embellishments on my cards. However, with this particular paper pack, the elements are already cut for you! Simply pop them out of the paper and use them in your card making.
