Safari Celebration – February 2022 Paper Pumpkin

Today I have a variety of different card ideas to share which feature the February 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit called Safari Celebration. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 9 fun celebration themed cards. However, I only created one of each of the 3 card designs from the kit. I used the rest of the card bases and materials from the kit to create 11 additional card designs. Of course, I added some of my own supplies too!

Safari Celebration Kit

The February 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit is called Safari Celebration. The kit contains all of the materials to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Plus the kit contained 9 coordinating envelopes.

Safari Celebration - February 2022 Paper Pumpkin

Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the projects. The stamp set in the kit features 11 different images you can use to make the kit projects and for additional card making.

The first thing I did with the kit was to cut apart all of the card bases. Each of the card bases had these fun leopard spots on the front and back in the three different colors. Simply place the card base in your paper trimmer and cut them down to 5-1/4 x 4 inches. This gives you 18 pieces of the leopard patterned paper to use in your card making.

These first three cards feature the kit designs. The remainder of the card designs I am sharing today are alternate ways you can use the materials from the February 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Scrappy Strips Cards

The first two alternate card ideas feature a scrappy strip card design. This design was inspired by a card I received from my friend Linda. Start by cutting 8 or 9 strips of paper at 3/4 x 4 inches. Adhere the strips to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. You can alternate strips of patterned paper and cardstock to create a fun backdrop for your card. Then simply decorate as desired.

Sentiment Border Cards

The next three cards feature a fun way to use your greetings or sentiments to create a border around your card. The exclusive stamp set in the February Paper Pumpkin kit had a variety of greetings and sentiments with a similar theme. This makes it easy to create a fun little border that sends a similar message.

Start with the congratulations greetings first. Stamp it coming out of each corner of the card front. Then go back and fill in the space with other greetings and images. Then simply decorate as desired.

Panel Card Ideas

The next set of cards feature the use of patterned paper panels. Cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Bumblebee patterned paper for the first card. Next, take use different die cut images from the kit to decorate the card.

The second card idea features the layering of cardstock and patterned paper. Cut a 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of rich razzleberry cardstock. Next, cut a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper. Layer the two pieces together and adhere to the left side of a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Use some of the die cut shapes and images from the kit to finish decorating the card.

Simple Card Ideas

The next couple of card ideas feature a monochromatic style and another great way to use your greetings and sentiments. It’s one of my favorite ways to create a backdrop for my cards. Simply arrange a variety of greetings on your acrylic block. This will enable you to stamp them all at once. The first card showcases the greetings stamped in the center of the card. Create a little frame for the greetings by using a rectangular die to cut out the center of a 4 x 5-/4 inch piece of paper.

The second card features the same cluster of greetings, but I changed the orientation of the card to portrait style. I used Soft Succulent to create the monochromatic look for both cards. However, I added pops of color, some Fresh Freesia, to one of the cards to create a more dramatic look.

The last two card ideas showcase a fun way to use the Stitched Rectangle dies. You can use the rectangle die to create a little frame and window card to highlight the stamped images. Then you can take the leftover rectangle piece to create the two-tone look on the second card. Decorate and embellish the cards with materials from the kit or from your own supplies.

Video Tutorial

As you can see, there are a variety of different things you can create with the stamp set and materials in each Paper Pumpkin kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So I highly recommend becoming a subscriber so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE. Check out some of the past paper pumpkin kits HERE.
