Looking for a fun and simple way to use up your patterned papers? Well today I have an easy designer paper fun fold card to share. The cards feature the Berry Blessings Designer Paper and stamp set. And I have three different ways you can use this fun fold design in your card making.
W Fold Design
The idea for these cards came from a super cute project share by one of my team members. I loved it so much that I just had to share it with all of you. It’s such a fun and versatile accordion fold card design. And after playing around with it, I discovered three different ways you can use this fun fold card in your card making. This particular accordion fold resembles the letter “w” and is often referred to as the W-Fold.
This first card design features a portrait style accordion fold as my team member demonstrated for us. It involves the use of a 11-3/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper. This means it can be used with ANY 12 x 12 inch sheets of patterned paper. Plus, you can actually make two of these fun fold cards from one sheet of designer paper! Once you cut the designer paper, simply score it at 1-3/4, 4-3/4 and 7-3/4 on the 11-3/4 inch side. Accordion fold the design paper to create a “w” and adhere the largest section to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Then simple decorate as desired!
The second way to use this accordion fold is to create the card in landscape style. You can completely change the look of the card by changing the orientation from portrait to landscape. The measurements are exactly the same, just the orientation is different.
Z Fold Design
The last way you can use this fun fold design is to change it from a w fold to a z fold card. You will be excited to learn that you can easily change the fun fold design without changing any of the measurements! Yes, you will cut and score your designer paper the exact same way whether you are making a W or Z fold. The only difference between the two fun fold designs is what you do with the front flap.
For the W fold card, the front flap (the 1-3/4 inch section) floats free. It’s an extra section of the accordion card. To create the Z Fold card, simply adhere that front flap down. Yep, it’s that easy! Be sure to watch the video to see the transformation in action.
Of course you can also create an accordion fun fold card with regular cardstock. The concept is the same however, the dimensions are a bit different. You can learn more about this type of accordion fold card HERE.

Hi Lynn, Thank you very much for sharing all of your cards. I love all of the cards that you make. I’ve already started to make one of the Accordion fold folds that you made. I have a shoulder surgery coming up in mid March after that I will be able to make cards faster.I was very happy to read that both of your parents are doing well. They are very fortunate to have a wonderful daughter. Take care but selfishly please keep making your cards. You are such an inspiration.

Thanks so much Mary! I appreciate your sweet comments and I’m happy to hear you are inspired! Best wishes to you on your surgery and recovery.
