Fun fold cards are my favorite type of card to make! Especially if they are quick and easy! So today I have a very easy Double Point Fold card idea to share with you. If you love easy fun fold cards then this week’s video is for you!

The cards featured in this week’s video showcase the Stampin’ Up Free As a Bird stamp set and other pretty products from the Bird Ballad suite. But keep in mind that you can use any stamp set or any patterned papers you have on hand to create these fun fold cards. Just get creative with it!
Double Point Fold Card
The most difficult part of creating this fun fold card is trying to decide what patterned paper you want to use! Once you have that figured out, the rest comes easy.

The double point fold involves the creation of two different triangular shapes which actually will become the card front. The card base is simply a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of colored cardstock. The card opens and closes by moving the top and bottom triangular pieces. The focal point of the card was created with the Stitched Nested Label Dies but you can really use any type of shape as long as it covers the areas between the two points on the card.
For another triangular fun fold card idea, check out this blog post where I feature a little triangular shaped frame as the focal point for the card. Although it’s a Christmas card idea, you can easily change out the patterned paper and stamp set to create a card for any occasion.
Creating a Closure Element
Now you may have noticed that the label die (the focal point of the card) simply rests against the bottom triangular piece. In other words, the card does not stay closed on it’s own.

So this second card idea features the additional of a simple closure element on the card. While I love the look of fun fold cards, I really like it when they stay closed on their own. So I decided to use the greeting to create a simple little layer for the card that enables it to stay closed. Be sure to watch the video to learn more.
