Top o’ the morning to ya! I have some fun St. Patrick’s Day projects to share with you today. One of the very first projects I created was a fun little “green beer” card for St. Patrick’s Day. My mind immediately went to the Mixed Drinks stamp set so I designed this quick and simple little card:
I mean you can’t have a St. Patrick’s Day celebration without a little green beer, right? Even if you don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, you can easily change out the colors on the card to make this into a fun little birthday card. However, if you want to recreate this card with the St. Patrick’s Day theme simply grab some green colored inks and paper that you have on hand! The colors I used on this card include Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist. I used a piece of light green (lemon lime twist) patterned paper to create the background. The background piece is cut to 5-1/4 x 4 inches and adhered to a piece of Emerald Envy cardstock. I simply stamped the beer mug on a scrap piece of white cardstock with black ink and filled it in with the emerald envy ink. I cut out a few different oval shapes and layered them together to create the focal point. For the finishing touch, I added some gold trim and a sentiment. Oh…and I almost forgot! I dabbed a little bit of embossing paste on the top of the beer mug to create a 3D effect for the foam. Fun, hey?
Just in case you missed the live Facebook session on St. Patrick’s Day Projects, I thought I would share it here too!
In this session, I showed you how to create fun little shamrocks with your heart stamps, punches and/or framelits! It’s super simple and a great way to make some fun cards and treat bags to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Enjoy!
