Today I want to share an adorable little card I put together for a friend of mine whose dog recently passed away. I know how difficult it can be to deal with this type of loss and I hope this card helped comfort her during such a sad time.
To make this card, start with a piece of smoky slate cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Cut a 5 1/4 x 2 inch piece of the Bohemian Designer Series Paper (or simply whatever patterned paper you have on hand). Secure the designer paper directly across the center of the white cardstock. Stamp the sorry for your loss sentiment from the Hot Diggity Dog stamp set on the bottom right hand corner of the white cardstock using smoky slate ink. Grab the adorable little “bone” image and randomly stamp it on the top and bottom of the white cardstock using smoky slate ink. Run a piece of ribbon across the designer paper (I used some retired chevron ribbon so choose something that coordinates with the colors you are using). Punch out a piece of white cardstock with the “note tag” punch. You can stamp one of the dog images on this piece (I chose to stamp a sentiment from one of my older stamp sets). Adhere it over the ribbon as shown. For the finishing touch, add a few coordinating buttons.
