Father Christmas

Good Morning Stampin’ Friends! Happy Monday!  I hope you were able to find some time for yourself this weekend to do a bit of crafting!  I always set aside some “me” time and it usually involves going to my craft room for a few hours. I just love working with my crafting supplies and coming up with new card designs. It’s so relaxing!  And, of course, I was able to take some time to craft this past weekend.  I am working on a variety of Christmas card designs right now so I thought I would share one of the projects. This card showcases the Father Christmas stamp set. It is a vintage style set which is what drew me to it!

To make this card, start with a piece of early espresso cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of cherry cobbler cardstock and adhere it to the front of your early espresso card base. Cut a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock and stamp it with the Hardwood stamp set using soft suede ink. Grab the Christmas Greetings and scroll type images from the Father Christmas set and stamp them on the top and bottom of the hardwood; use early espresso or black ink so that the images stand out from the Hardwood.  Stamp Father Christmas in the center of the Hardwood background using early espresso ink. Take some different colored markers and color in the different parts of the Father Christmas image.  For the finishing touch, add a little dazzling details to the white parts of the coat!  That’s it! Enjoy!
