Here is another one of my contest submissions from May. We were challenged to make two 3-Dimensional projects as part of the contest submission. I decided to design a note pad cover for some cute little note pads that I picked up really cheap from a local craft store.
To start, simply measure the note pad that you want to cover. Measure and cut a piece of cardstock that is approximately 1/4 inch larger (all the way around) the note pad. So for example, if your note pad is 4 x 3, then you will add 1/4 inch measurement (making it 4 1/4 x 3 1/4). If you want to cover the note pad in book style, as pictured, then simple double the size…cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 x 6 1/2…remember to add inches for the binding. For this project I added 1/2 inch binding so I cut my cardstock at 8 1/2 x 7 (then I scored the 7 inch side 3 1/4 and 3 3/4 to get my binding for the book).
The inside of my note pad book contains a few little embellishments. I used the scallop envelope die to add the cute little pockets on the left side of my book. Then I just embellished them with some cute clips and sentiments. The stamp set I used was called Tea Shoppe and, unfortuntately, is no longer available…but you can use any sentiments on the inside of the book!
Good thing I have a picture of this so I can recreate a few to give as gifts!
