Let’s look at some alternate ways to use the September 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit called Fall for Toile. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards. However, you can easily cut apart the supplies in the kit and use them differently to create even more cards! Creating alternative designs is such a great way to get the most out of your Paper Pumpkin kit.
Paper Pumpkin Kit
First let’s talk about the card designs as featured in the September 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. I created one of each of the three different card designs from the kit before I started creating alternative designs.

Now let’s take a look at some of the ways you can create additional cards simply by cutting apart the supplies that come in the kit as I have 8 different alternate designs to share with you.
Alternative Cards
The very first thing I do with any paper pumpkin kit is to take a peek at the front and back of each of the different card bases. There are beautiful designs on both sides of the card bases in the kit. Simply cut them in half, on the score line, to create two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.” If you decide to cut all 9 of card bases in half, you will end up with 18 pieces of paper to use in your card making!

The first alternate card idea features the large die cut shape, from the kit, with the tree in a frame. You can easily brighten up the kit design by adhering this frame to an embossed piece of very vanilla cardstock. It’s the same design, just a different background piece.
The second alternative design features the large leaf spray from the kit. Start by cutting a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the linen style card base from the kit. Stamp the acorn images on each side using Early Espresso ink. Adhere to the center of an A2 size card base. Cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4″ piece of the dark brown card base and dovetail the end. Cut a 1 x 4-1/2″ piece of the light brown card base and dovetail the end. Adhere the pieces to the card front as shown. Stamp the greeting on the circle shape, from the kit, and add the leaves behind it. Embellish as desired.
Two For One
These next two alternate card ideas feature the large pre-printed decorative piece from the September 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. I simply cut apart the large shape, with the cornstalk design, to create two pieces. This enables me to create two cards instead of just one! The cornstalk piece for the first card measures 2-1/2 x 3-1/2.” The piece for the second card measures 2-1/4 x 3-1/2.”

The cardstock layers for each of these cards are the same. I simply adhered the layers either the left or right side of the card front. Start by cutting a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of very vanilla cardstock. Emboss it with the Gathering Leaves or your favorite embossing folder. Cut a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the brown checkered card base from the kit. The final layer is a 1/2 x 4-1/4″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Embellish as desired.
Autumn Leaves
The next two paper pumpkin alternative designs feature the large die-cute spray of leaves from the kit. To create the first card, start with an A2 size card base created from Pecan Pie cardstock. Cut the following layers from the different patterned card bases from the kit:
- 2 x 5-1/2″ Tree pattern
- 2-1/4 x 4-1/4″ Linen pattern
- 2-1/4 x 3-1/4″ Brown checkered pattern
Adhere all the pieces to the card front as shown. Stamp the pumpkin image on one of the circle shapes from the kit using Cajun Craze ink. Add one of the leaf sprays behind the pumpkin before adhering it to the card front. Add a greeting and off-set the greeting onto a 1/2 x 3″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock.

To create the second card, start with an A2 size card base using Early Espresso cardstock. Stamp the acron image on one of the circle shapes from the kit. Adhere the acorn circle shape to the leaf spray. Cut the following layers:
- 4 x 5-1/4″ embossed vanilla cardstock
- 2-1/2 x 4″ Tree pattern
- 4 x 1-1/2″ Brown checkered pattern
- 3-1/2 x 3/4″ Cajun Craze cardstock
- 3 x 1/2″ piece Very Vanilla cardstock (for the greeting).
Arrange all the pieces on the card front as shown. Tuck in a few copper-colored leaves around the colorful leaf spray.
Acorn Card Ideas
The last couple of alternate card ideas feature the add-on die set which coordinates with 3 different paper pumpkin kits! The die set is called Circle of Season and could be used with the July-September Paper Pumpkin kits. I die cut the acorns for both of these cards with the Circle of Season dies.

Both cards feature an A2 size card base using Early Espresso cardstock. To create the first card, start with a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the linen patterned card base. Add a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of the tree patterned paper. Embellish with the acorns and other pieces from the kit.
The second card features a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the brown checkered patterned paper in the background. Add a 4-1/4 x 2-1/4″ piece of linen paper and a 4-1/4 x 3/4″ piece of the tree patterned paper. Create the acorns and decorate the card with other shapes from the kit. The greeting is adhered to a 2-1/2 x 3/4″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock.
