If you’ve ever looked at a roll of washi tape and wondered how to turn that pretty pattern into a show-stopping card, you’re in for a treat! Today, I’m sharing three simple card designs using the stunning Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape from Stampin’ Up!®—and you’ll be amazed by the results.
What makes this washi tape extra special? The coordinating dies! Yep—this tape features floral images that perfectly match the dies in the Extraordinary Flora Bundle, which means you can cut out the detailed flowers and leaves in seconds. No fussy cutting required!
Simple & Elegant
First let’s talk about how to use the Extraordinary Floral washi tape. This particular washi tape coordinates with the Extraordinary Floral Bundle (stamp and die set). The dies in this set cut out the stamp images but they also cut out the images in the washi tape! Yes, the washi tape coordinates with this bundle! Simply adhere the washi tape to a piece of white cardstock and then die cut out the images. So simple!

Once you die cut out the washi tape images, you are ready to get started with your card making. These first two card ideas showcase the two different colored florals in the washi tape. One section of the washi tape has pink florals while the other section has purple florals.

For these cards, I started with an A2 size white card base. Cut a 5 x 3-3/4″ piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Glass & Gardens embossing folder. Add a greeting and embellish the greeting with some of the washi tape images. The greetings come from the More Messages bundle.
Background Layers
The next two Extraordinary Floral card ideas feature some simple layering to create the background. Layering creates depth, texture, and visual richness. Start with an A2 size card base. Cut a 4-1/2 x 3-1/2″ piece of either Soft Sea Foam or Fresh Freesia cardstock. Next, emboss a 3-3/4 x 2-3/4″ piece of white cardstock. Adhere the colored and embossed cardstock pieces together and then adhere to the card front.

Add a greeting in the center of the embossed cardstock. Tuck a variety of different extraordinary flora washi tape die cut pieces around the greeting and then add a fancy bow. Of course, you can also embellish the card with some bling!
Quilt Block Style
The next two extraordinary flora card ideas feature a quilt block style design. I recently shared this design as a way to use up patterned paper. However, it also works well with 1-1/2 x 2″ pieces of embossed white cardstock. Adhere the rectangular embossed pieces to a piece of colored cardstock. Add your greetings and use the washi tape florals to embellish around the greetings.
