Looking for a WOW card that’s super simple to make? Check out this Pinwheel Tower Card! You are not going to believe how easy it is to make! This 3D-style fun fold card stands beautifully for display, making it perfect for showcasing your favorite designer series papers and stamped images. Even though it stands up and looks super fancy, it folds completely flat to fit in a regular A2 envelope (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). Yay!
The Pinwheel Tower Design
First let’s talk about the pinwheel tower design. I know, it looks complicated but it’s not! Start by creating the tower section of the card. Cut a 4-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper. Score the 4-1/2 inch side at 1, 2, 3, and 4 inches. Fold on all the score lines. To create the column or tower, adhere the ends together by adding glue to the 1/2 inch section. Each section of the tower is 1 inch wide. The patterned paper on the outside of the tower will be covered by the pinwheel panels. The patterned paper on the inside of the tower will be visible.

Now you are ready to create the panels for the card. Cut 4 pieces of cardstock at 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches. You can decorate each of these panels with any supplies you have on hand. I used a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and/or cardstock to decorate mine. Once you have the panels decorated, adhere one panel to each side of the column. Basically, you will be adhering the left side of the panel to a 1-inch section of the column. I recommend watching the video to see this process in action.
