Let’s play around with some alternate ways to use the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit called Mountain Majesties. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards. However, you can easily cut apart the supplies in the kit and use them differently to create even more cards! Creating alternative designs is such a great way to get the most out of your Paper Pumpkin kit.
Paper Pumpkin Kit
First let’s talk about the card designs as featured in the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. I created one of each of the three different card designs from the kit before I started creating alternative designs.

Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can create additional cards simply by cutting apart the supplies that come in the kit as I have 10 different designs to share with you.
Alternative Cards
The very first thing I do with any paper pumpkin kit is to take a peek at the front and back of each of the different card bases. Typically, there are beautiful designs on both sides of the card bases in the kit.
I cut up all of the card bases, in half, on the score line to create two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.” If you decide to cut all 9 of card bases in half, you will end up with 18 pieces which you can use as patterned paper!

As such, these first two cards feature the design on the back side of one of the kit card bases. You can easily cut in between to the trees to create two separate pieces.
The tree piece used on the first card measures 2-1/4 x 5-1/2.” Take one of the Misty Moonlight vellum pieces, from the kit, and cut it down to 3-1/4 x 4-1/4.” Adhere the vellum to the center of the card front and then add the piece with the trees. Embellish as desired.
The tree piece for the second card measures 1-3/4 x 4-3/4.” Cut apart one of the envelopes in the kit to create two pieces measuring 3/4 x 4-3/4.” Adhere all the pieces to a 3-3/4 x 5″ piece of Black cardstock and then adhere to a Misty Moonlight card base.
Tree Elements
The next couple of card ideas feature the little tree elements from the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. Simply cut apart the light-colored card bases to create the background for the trees.
To create the first card, cut a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″ piece from one of the card bases in the kit. Adhere it to a 3-3/4 x 5″ piece of black cardstock and then adhere to a Misty Moonlight card base. Add the tree element to the card front using stampin’ dimensionals. Cut a 1-7/8 x 3-1/2″ piece from one of the envelopes for the greeting.
The second card is simply one of the kit card base scenes with the trees tucked in between the different landscape layers.

The third card idea features a great way to use one of the landscape scenes from the kit. This is a separate piece that has a similar scene as the card bases in the kit. Start by cutting a 4-1/4 x 3″ piece from one of the envelopes in the kit and adhere it to the top of an A2 size card base. Use the modern oval punch to create the moon. Adhere half of the oval shape behind the landscape scene and then adhere to the card front.

The fourth card idea is simply a scene from one of the card bases in the kit. Cut the scene on the card base down to 4-1/4 x 4-1/4″ and adhere to a an A2 size card front.
Faux Tile Designs
The next couple of May 2025 Paper Pumpkin alternate card ideas showcase two different faux tile patterns. I like to use this type of card design to break up large patterns on paper. They also work great with the patterns on the card bases in the kit!
The first card design features a fun way to break up a large design or pattern. Start with a 3 x 5″ piece of patterned paper and cut it into three pieces. The top and bottom pieces are 3 x 1-1/2.” The middle piece is 3 x 2.” Adhere the pieces to a 3-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of black cardstock and then adhere to the Misty Moonlight card front.

The second card idea also features a Faux Tile pattern except this time I cut paper into 1-1/2 x 1-1/2″ squares to create the look of tiles. Start by cutting a 3 x 4-1/2″ piece from one of the kit card bases and then create the 1-1/2″ squares.
Framed Design
The next set of May 2025 Paper Pumpkin alternative card ideas showcase a super simple frame design! The frame was created with the new Gallery Blooms dies from Stampin’ Up! Simply lay the frame on a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of one of the kit card bases and it will cut out all three frames.

Once the frames are cut, stamp a few images on them and then adhere them to a card front. The middle frame I popped up with a few stampin’ dimensionals to give some depth and dimension to the card. Super simple and a great way to use the card base designs from the kit!
Fun Fold Cards
The last two alternate designs created from the May Paper Pumpkin kit are simple fun fold cards! Start by creating an A2 size card base; then cut off 1″ from the front of the card base.
Next, choose a scene from one of the kit card bases. If you cut the card bases in half, on the score, line, choose one of the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ pieces and cut down the short side at 3″ inches. You will end up with two pieces measuring 3 x 5-1/2 and 1-1/4 x 5-1/2.”

Adhere the 3 x 5-1/2″ piece to the front of the fun fold card. Adhere the 1-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece to right side of the inside of the fun fold card so that it is visible when the card is closed. It creates a continuation of the scene across the card front.
