Column Pop Up Card Design

Are you ready to make a card that truly pops? Today I’m sharing a fun and impressive center Column Pop Up Card that’s sure to become one of your go-to fancy folds. This design looks intricate but is actually simple to make—and it folds flat to fit in a standard A2 card size envelope!

The Column Pop-Up Design

First let’s talk about how to create the column section of this card. Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/4″ piece of cardstock. Score the 8-1/4″ side at 1/2, 1-1/4, 2, 2-3/4, 5-1/2, 6-1/4, 7, and 7-3/4.” Whew! That’s a lot of scoring! You are basically creating two small columns which are 3/4″ wide. These two small columns will support the main column in the center of the card front. The main column measures 2-3/4 x 5-1/2.”

Once you have created the columns, you are ready to adhere them to the center of an A2 size card base. To create the A2 size card base, cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock and score it at 4-1/4.”

I recommend watching the video to see the assembly of the columns in action. In order to attain proper alignment, the columns must be assembled in the folded down position. The video takes you through the entire process and I share some tips on how to fold down the small columns flat to create them and how to adhere them to the card front.

Tutorial & Supplies

The card features a brand-new bundle from Stampin’ Up! called Sunrise Sailing. This bundle is one of the many new online exclusives coming out in May 2025. However, feel free to use whatever supplies you have on hand to recreate this design. Feel free to download the pdf file below.

I hope you enjoyed this card design and are inspired to give it a try! Be sure to watch the video to see the creation of this card in action. Have a fun and creative day! ~ Lynn
