If you love creating faith-inspired cards, you’re going to love these Unique Z-Fold Cross Cards! I’ll walk you through two simple yet stunning ways to make these cards. Of course they are perfect to send for Easter, encouragement, or any faith-based occasion.
Z-Fold Cross Design
First let’s talk about the z-fold style design. This is a modified z-fold card as the score line is offset instead of in the center of the card. By offsetting the score line, it creates a center front flap to create the cross.
Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock. Score the 8-1/2″ side at 1-3/8″ and 4-1/4″. Fold the card in half on the 4-1/4″ score line and then fold the 1-3/8″ section back onto itself to create a z-fold style card.

The front flap of the card will become the vertical part of the cross. Add a 1-1/8 x 5-1/4″ piece of embossed white cardstock to the front panel of the card.
Next, cut a 1-3/8 x 4-1/4″ piece of thick white cardstock for the horizontal section of the cross. Add a 1-1/8 x 4″ piece of embossed white cardstock. Adhere the horizontal section of the cross to the front flap of the card front as shown.

That’s it! Now you are ready to decorate the card as desired. These cards feature the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and some of the floral elements from the Fully Flowering Mix & Match ephemera pack.
Simple Fun Fold Design
The second way you can use this z-fold style design in your card making is simply to adhere down the z-fold. This transforms the card from a z-fold card to a simple fun fold. Notice how the first card features a pull-out accordion style design while this card is simply an A2 style non-interactive card with a shorter card front.

The best part about this second card design is that is created the same way as the first card! Yes, you can use the exact same measurements. The only difference is that you will adhere the front flap, and left side of the cross, down to the card front with a few stampin’ dimensionals.

For this style card, I would recommend adhering the patterned papers to the card before adhering the front flap down. Of course, you can decorate this card with any supplies you have on hand.

Lynn, I ❤️ this z-fold Cross card you’ve created!!! Wish I had seen it sooner before I started my 108 cards for Easter; it would have been less labor-intensive for me . Well, this template can possibly be used as a z-fold without the Cross.
