Let’s play around with some alternate ways to use the March 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit called Daisy Daydream. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards. However, you can easily cut apart the supplies in the kit and use them differently to create even more cards! Creating alternative designs is such a great way to get the most out of your Paper Pumpkin kit.
Paper Pumpkin Kit
First let’s talk about the card designs as featured in the March 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. I created one of each of the three different card designs from the kit before I started creating alternative designs.

For this particular kit, I cut up some of the kit card bases and envelopes to create a variety of alternate card ideas. The envelopes are just as pretty as the cards! Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can create additional cards simply by cutting apart the supplies that come in the kit.
Alternative Cards
The very first thing I do with any paper pumpkin kit is to take a peek at the front and back of each of the different card bases. Typically, there are beautiful designs on both sides of the card bases in the kit. For this kit, I focused on using the card bases with the large daisy design.
Start by cutting each of the daisy patterned card bases, from the kit, in half on the score line. This will give you two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.” Cut the piece with the daisy pattern in half again at 2-1/8.” You will end up with two pieces measuring 2-1/8 x 5-1/2″ for which you can use to create these two alternate designs. Add a Mossy Meadow cardstock layer to each card (1/2 x 5-1/2″ or 3-1/2 x 5-1/2″) and then embellish with elements from the kit.

The back side of the daisy patterned card base, from the kit, has a honeycomb pattern. Cut up that pattern to create these two cards. The honeycomb layers on the first card are 1 x 3-1/2″. The embossed white cardstock layer is 2-3/4 x 3-1/2.” Adhere all the pieces to a 5 x 3-3/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

The second card features a 2-3/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the honeycomb pattern cut from the back of the card base. Adhere it to a 3-1/2 x 3″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Decorate the cards with elements from the kit.
Envelope Cards
The next two paper pumpkin alternative card designs feature patterns cut from the front of the envelopes in the kit. Each design features a different envelope front. I know the envelopes are just as beautiful as the cards. However, you can really stretch your paper pumpkin kit by using these envelope patterns, and some of your own supplies, to create additional cards.
The first card features a 3 x 5-1/2″ piece cut from the bottom front part of one of the kit envelopes. Adhere this piece to a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Next, adhere the entire piece to a Daffodil Delight card base. Decorate with a variety of elements from the kit.

The second card idea features a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2″ piece cut from the bottom of a different envelope from the kit. Adhere this piece to a 4 x 3-1/4″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Stamp a few of the honeycomb images in the corners of the Crushed Curry card base before adhering the focal point. Embellish as desired.
Envelope Flap Cards
The last two alternate paper pumpkin card ideas come from using the design printed on the envelope flaps. So, if you are going to cut apart the envelopes to create the previous two cards, you definitely want to use up the flaps of those envelopes.
The first card features the envelope flap with the daisies. Trim the flap down to 1-3/4 x 5″ but leave the rounded edge of the flap intact. The rounded part of the envelope flap will be slightly longer, measuring approximately 2.” Adhere the envelope flap to a 2-1/2 x 5″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock. The background for this card is a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of one of the card bases from the kit.

The second card idea features the envelope flap with the honeycomb and bee image. Cut the flap down to 1-3/4 x 5.” Adhere the flap to a 4 x 2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Stamp the honeycomb image in the corners of the Crushed Curry card front, add the die cut honeycomb pieces and then adhere the focal point to the card. Decorate as desired.
