The Lovely Garden Suite from Stampin’ Up! is blooming with fresh inspiration! Between the gorgeous florals, soft textures, and stunning color palette, this suite makes it easy to create beautiful handmade cards in no time. Today, I’m sharing six simple card ideas that spotlight the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP). However, keep in mind these layouts are versatile enough to use with ANY supplies you already have on hand.
Lovely Garden Focal Point
First let’s talk about the products in the new Lovely Garden suite. The suite includes a stamp set, die set, coordinating Designer Series Paper, embellishments and ribbon. For the cards I am sharing today, I will focus on the designer paper and the stamp set.
The lovely garden designer series paper has a variety of gorgeous floral prints. You can use the paper to create a fun background layout for your cards. However, you can also cut out some of the florals from the patterned paper to create the focal point for your cards.

These first two cards feature the blue hydrangea florals in the patterned paper. Simply cut the images from the DSP with a scissors and use them as the focal point.
The cardstock and patterned paper layers for the first card include the following: 2 x 4-1/4″ piece of DSP, 2 x 3-1/2″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock, and 2-3/4 x 3″ piece of embossed cardstock.
The layers for the second card include the following: 2 x 5-1/2″ piece of DSP, 3-1/2 x 3-1/2″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock, and 2-3/4 x 4-1/2″ piece of embossed white cardstock.
Stamped Background
The last 4 card ideas feature the Lovely Garden DSP along with some stamped images in the background. The stamping really gives the card more depth and dimension. Simply use the same color ink as the cardstock to complete the stamping. It gives a more subtle look in the background.

These first two card ideas were created on a Melon Mambo card base. The cardstock and designer series paper layers for Card #1 include: Basic Black cardstock 2 x 3-1/2″ and DSP 3-1/2 x 2-3/4″
For Card#2, the cardstock and designer series paper layers are: 3-1/4 x 3-1/2″ DSP and 3-1/2 x 3-3/4″ Basic Black cardstock.

The last two card ideas feature Fresh Freesia for the base of the card. The layers for Card#3 include: 3 x 3-1/2″ Basic Black cardstock and a 3-3/4 x 3″ piece of DSP.
The final card layout features a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of DSP, and a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4″ square shape created with the Stylish Shapes dies from a piece of white cardstock.
