Let’s play around with some alternate ways to use the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit called Hello Spring. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards. However, you can easily cut apart the supplies in the kit and use them differently to create even more cards! Creating alternative designs is such a great way to get the most out of your Paper Pumpkin kit.
Paper Pumpkin Kit
First let’s talk about the card designs as featured in the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. I created all three designs from the kit before I started creating alternative designs.

Typically, I like to cut apart the card bases and envelopes in the Paper Pumpkin kits. The card bases usually have some type of design printed on the front and back. You can use the designs on the card bases and envelopes as patterned paper to create some alternative card layouts.
Alternate Designs
The first two alternate designs feature the green and beige card bases from the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The green card bases have the same pattern as the envelopes in the kit. You can either cut up the green card bases or the envelopes from the kit to use as patterned paper for these alternative cards.
Start with a piece of Basic Beige cardstock for the base of the card. For layout for the first card features a 2-1/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the green patterned paper. Cut a 3-1/2 x 2-1/2″ piece of the being linen paper. Add a 1 x 4-1/4″ piece of Old Olive cardstock across the center. Create the focal point with one of the elements from the kit.

The layout for the second card features a 3 x 4-1/4″ piece of the green paper. Cut a 1 x 5″ piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. The beige linen paper measures 3 x 2-3/4.” Decorate the layout with elements from the kit.
Blue Linen Card Bases
The next couple of card ideas feature one of my favorite color combinations using the supplies in the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. The colors include Lost Lagoon, Old Olive and Basic Beige. The blue linen style paper (which is Lost Lagoon) comes from cutting up the card bases in the kit.
The layout for the first card features a 4-3/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of the blue linen paper. Add a 2-1/4 x 4-1/4″ piece of embossed white cardstock.
The second card features an embossed white card front. Add a 4-1/4 x 3″ piece of the blue linen paper.

To create the layout for the third card, start with a 2-1/4 x 5″ piece of the blue linen paper. Cut a 4-1/4 x 1-3/4″ piece of white cardstock and emboss it. Add a 2-1/2 x 1-1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock behind the focal point before adhering to the card front.

The layers for the last card include a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2″ piece of embossed white cardstock. Add a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of the blue linen paper.
Create the focal point and decorate all the cards with various elements from the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit.
Petunia Pop
The next two alternate card ideas feature the same Lost Lagoon, Basic Beige and Old Olive color combination. However, this time we have a “pop” of an additional color (Petunia Pop) with the chives.
To create the first card, start by embossing the white card front. Cut a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2″ piece of the blue linen paper. Create additional layers on the card using elements from the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. Add a 2-1/2 x 1-1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock behind the focal point before adhering to the card front.

The layout for the second card starts with a 2-3/4 x 5-1/4″ piece of the blue linen paper. Cut a 3 x 4-1/4″ piece of the beige linen paper. Add a 3-1/2 x 1-3/4″ piece of embossed white cardstock. Create the focal point with elements from the kit.
Using Up Scraps
Once you start cutting apart the supplies in the kit, you will be left with some scrap pieces of paper. Therefore, these last couple of alternative designs feature a great way to use up those scraps!
Here are the measurements for the scrap pieces on the first card:
- Beige Linen Paper – 2-1/2 x 1-1/2″
- Dark Green Paper – 2-1/2 x 3-1/4″
- Lemon-Lime Twist (embossed cardstock) – 1 x 5″

To create the second card, start with a 5 x 3-3/4″ piece of embossed white cardstock. Add a 3-1/2 x 2-1/2″ scrap piece of the dark green paper as it creates a nice background for the focal point. Decorate with elements from the kit.

Great Cards.
Thanks so much!
Always love your alternate card ideas! Thanks for inspiring me! 🙂
Thanks so much Polly!
Lovely. I just opened my kit to make these! Thank you for the alternatives. What are the embellishment dots that you used throughout the cards?
Super! I used the adhesive-backed textured dots…they seem to be my “go to” embellishment lately.
