Today we are going to do something a little bit different! We are going to play around with the NEW Halloween Memories Scrapbook Workshop kit from Stampin’ Up! This kit comes with everything you need to create three 2-page layouts which are 12 x 12 inch in size. Of course, there are plenty of extra supplies for you to continue creating!
So Spooky
First let’s talk about the supplies and items which come in the Halloween Memories Scrapbook Workshop kit. The kit includes step-by-step instructions, exclusively designed patterned paper, two-tone cardstock sheets, printed stickers, and photo placeholders.
One of my favorite features in the kit are the place holders for pictures. I plan to create a scrapbook for each of my grandchildren so having the place holders will make it easy for them to add the pictures they want.
However, many of the layouts show the stickers overlapping onto the pictures. Since I am not adding pictures right away to these layouts, I had to modify how I use the stickers which come in the kit.
You can easily remove the adhesive from those stickers by using an embossing buddy. Simply pat the embossing buddy across the sticker until it removes the stickiness. This will enable you to add dimension to the sticker (pop it up) so it overhangs onto the picture area without sticking to it. Be sure to watch the video to see this process in action.
Potions and Spells
This next layout is a perfect for showcasing multiple Halloween pictures. The grid paper background also makes it easy to line up the different elements on the page. You also have lots of space for journaling, adding dates, names, etc.
This two-page was definitely the quickest one to put together. The Halloween Memories Workshop kit comes with all the step-by-step instructions for creating each page. However, feel free to decorate the pages any way you want. Don’t be afraid to modify things, move elements around, add more stickers, etc. Make them exactly as the kit suggests or do it your own way!
Halloween Memories
The last layout features a fun banner and bat theme. When I saw the Halloween Memories banner, I thought it was such a clever way to use up scraps. You can use this banner idea to easily create a birthday themed layout with supplies you may already have on hand.
I even learned how to add faux stitching to this layout with a black stampin’ write marker. What a fun technique that can easily be applied to card making as well.
There are full page instructions for cutting and assembling the 6 different pages. I highly recommend cutting all the paper and prepping the supplies before you begin putting the pages together. I would also recommend keeping those instructions as you can use them with other supplies to create scrapbook pages for other occasions, not just Halloween. You can easily use these layouts to inspire you to create with other papers, colors and elements!
