Learn how to make a gift box for your handmade cards. It’s such a great way to coordinate your packaging with your cards. The gift box features the Frames & Flowers Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! However, you can create your gift box with any supplies you have on hand.
Gift Box Template
First let’s talk about how to create the gift box. Start with an 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. I recommend using a cardstock color which coordinates with the cards you will be placing in the box.
Place the cardstock on the Simply Scored Scoring Board so that the 11-inch side is at the top. Score at 1, 7 and 8 inches.
Turn the cardstock so the 8-1/2 inch side is at the top of the scoring board. Score at 1 and 2 inches down both sides of the cardstock.

Once you have completed the scoring, you are ready to cut the flaps you will need to assemble the box. I recommend watching the video to see this process in action. You can download the template HERE. I want to give a big shout out to Diane VanderGailen for sharing this idea with our team and creating the template.
Decorating Ideas
The fun thing about this gift box idea is that you can decorate that front panel to coordinate with the cards you created. The first gift box features the Frames & Flowers Designer Series Paper. This particular paper pack has a variety of die cut elements you can use to create cards and decorate the box. Since I made over 24 cards on World Card Making Day, I decided to package them up to give as gifts! Be sure to check out the video HERE.

The second gift box idea features some Reindeer cards package in a Christmas themed box. Notice how I turned the orientation of the box, so the decorated panel is on the bottom instead of the side. You are able to decorate this box in either landscape or portrait style based on the orientation of the cards you are showcasing.

where do you get the clear bags to cover/display
I used some 6 x 8 inch cello bags I purchased through Stampin’ Up! Unfortunately, the bags are retired now and no longer available. However, you could probably find some on Amazon.
