Today I have 12 alternate card designs to share which feature the September 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit called Autumn Abundance. Don’t have this month’s kit? You can certainly use the card layouts with any supplies you have on hand.
Paper Pumpkin Kit Projects
The September 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit includes all the supplies you need to make 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. The kit also includes 9 coordinating envelopes.
Typically, I like to create one of each of the cards as featured in the kit. However, this time I modified the kit cards a bit. The designs above are very similar to the cards featured in the kit. I simply cut the card bases in the kit, in half, and adhered one of the halves to the card front of a card base I created with my own supplies.
The last card style in the kit was not the standard A2 size, so I simply turned it into one. The cards feature the 4 x 4 inch window from the kit card base. You can use the window section of the card base to create a card in portrait or landscape style.
The portrait style card features the 4 x 4 inch window on the top part of an Early Espresso card base. The additional bottom layer was created from a 1 x 4 inch piece cut from the small envelope in the kit.
The landscape style card features a 3 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Cajun Craze cardstock behind the 4 x 4 inch window.
Alternate Designs
The September 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit comes with different card bases which actually have a design printed on the front and back of the card base. This makes it so easy to cut up the card base and use it as designer paper for additional card making! Simply cut all the card bases in the kit in half, on the score line, and you will have double the number of pieces to play with!
These first 4 cards feature the wood slice patterned card bases. Cut the card base in half so you have two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches. Next, cut down the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece so you end up with a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 and a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece. You can make 4 cards from cutting apart just one of the wood slice patterned card bases!
The cardstock layers for all 4 cards are as follows:
- Card #1 – Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 4-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches and embossed. Wood Slice card base cut at 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches.
- Card #2 – Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 4 inches and embossed. The other half of the Wood Slice card base which measures 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches.
- Card#3 – Wood Slice card base cut at 3 x 4-1/4 inches. Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 2 x 4-1/4 inches and embossed.
- Card#4 – Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 2 x 4-1/4 inches and embossed. Wood Slice card base cut at 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches. Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 3-1/2 x 3 inches.
Panel Card Ideas
The next two card ideas feature a panel style card layout created by cutting up one of the card bases from the September 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit. The first card features a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece cut from one of the kit card bases. Add a 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock matte behind that piece. Decorate as desired.
The second panel card features a 2 x 4 inch piece in the center. The outer panels are 1-1/2 x 4 inch pieces of embossed Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. However, you can use any supplies you have on hand with this layout.
Envelopes and Scraps
The last couple of paper pumpkin alternate ideas feature layouts created with leftover scraps as well as pieces cut from the envelopes in the kit.
These first card features the leftover 4 x 4 inch piece of the card base from the window cards in the kit. The back of the card base had this beautiful leaf design. I simply cut the 4 x 4 inch piece in half to create two pieces measuring 2 x 4 inches. The Early Espresso layer is 2-5/8 x 4-1/4 inches.
The panel card features the piece cut from one of the envelopes in the kit. The envelope paper with the leaves measures 1-1/2 x 4 inches. The wood grain envelope paper measures 2 x 4 inches.
The third card features envelope piece on the top and bottom. The pieces measure 3-3/4 x 1-3/4 inches. The embossed vanilla cardstock piece is 3-3/4 x 1-1/4 inches.
The last card is just an alternate way to decorate the wood slice paper. The leaves were created with the Every Celebration Dies and some stamped images from the exclusive stamp kit which came in the kit.
