Let’s do some simple stamping and scoring today! I have 4 different cards to share which feature the Caring Leaves stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Plus, we will be playing around with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create some simple lines of interest on each of the cards.
Simple Scoring
First let’s talk about the simple scoring process. I use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. This tool enables me to add scoring lines to any piece of cardstock with ease! Vary the location and number of score lines you create on each cardstock piece. Scoring makes it so easy to add depth and interest to the card with very little fuss.
The first card features two score lines on the top and bottom of a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of white cardstock. The score lines are 1/4-inch apart. Stamp the images in between the score lines for a quick and simple card ideas.
The second card features the use of scoring lines to create a frame. Start with a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Score in 1/4-inch from each edge of the cardstock. It creates a beautiful frame for the stamped image. Emboss the card front and add some layers of patterned paper for more depth and dimension. The patterned paper layers measure 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 and a 3/4 x 3 inches.
Simple Stamping
Once you have completed the scoring, you are ready to stamp some images. For these cards, I am featuring the Caring Leaves stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This particular stamp set involves two-step stamping. Simply stamp the leaf outline image first, using Early Espresso ink. Then stamp the solid image using one of the following colors: Old Olive, Cajun Craze and/or Crushed Curry. Keep in mind that you can use any stamp set or colors you have on hand.
The layout for the first card is simply a 3-inch-long piece of Early Espresso cardstock layered with a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. The stamping is showcased on a 3 x 4 inch piece of scored white cardstock. The scoring for both of these cards features 3 lines on the top and 3 on the side of the cardstock. Each score line is 1/4-inch apart. Stamp the images and adhere to a 2-5/8 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock for a matte.
The last card idea features the 3-line top and side scoring on a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the images as shown. Add a 1 x 2-3/4 inch piece of patterned paper to each side of the card front before adding the scored and stamped white cardstock.
