Let’s create some autumn themed cards with pumpkins! I have 6 different card ideas to share which feature some fun ways to use the Autumn Expressions bundle and the Bee Builder punch from Stampin’ Up!
Pumpkin Cards
First let’s talk about how to create the pumpkins for these cards. Since I do not have a pumpkin stamp set or die, I had to get a little creative with some supplies I had on hand. I enjoy using dies and punches in different ways. As such, these pumpkins were created with the Bee Builder Punch! Simply punch out the bee body from a piece of cardstock or patterned paper. Next, round off the bottom of the bee body (cut off the stinger) with a scissors. It creates a fun oval shape you can use to create the pumpkins! You will need three oval shapes for each pumpkin.
The layout for the first card features a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of the Iconic Celebrations Designer Series Paper as the backdrop. Emboss a 4-1/4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The Early Espresso pieces measure 1/4 x 4-1/4 inches and 1 x 2 inches.
The second card features a 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 and a 3 x 4 inch piece of DSP in the background. Add a 1/4 x 3-1/2 inch strip of Early Espresso cardstock. Create the label die cut shape using the Autumn Expressions Bundle.
Autumn Expressions
The pumpkins are super fun to create! You can use cardstock or DSP for the oval shapes. You can also add a bit of texture by embossing them. The stems and leaves for all the pumpkins were created with different stamps and die cut shapes from the Autumn Expressions bundle from Stampin’ Up! Be sure to watch the video to see how to create the pumpkins.
The layout for this next card ideas might look familiar to you. It’s one of my “go to” layouts for creating some quick cards. You can use up an entire 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper with this layout! Check out how to use this layout to create one sheet wonder cards HERE.
The second card idea involves some tone-on-tone simple stamping in the background. Stamp a variety of images from the Autumn Expressions stamp set across the top part of the Pecan Pie card front using Pecan Pie ink. Add a 4-1/4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of DSP and decorate with a vanilla pumpkin!
Using Up Scraps
The last two card ideas involve using up some scrap papers. I like to use up my scrap papers right away! The patterned paper pieces for the first card are 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 and 3 x 4 inches. Add a 3 x 2-1/2 inch piece of embossed vanilla cardstock. Embellish as desired.
The second card idea features a variety of scrap pieces of DSP adhered to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The top DSP pieces measure 2 x 3 and 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches. The bottom DSP pieces measure 2 x 1-3/4 and 1-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches. Stamp a greeting on one of the label shapes from using the Autumn Expressions dies and adhere to the card front.
