Today we are going to get “A Little Bit Festive” as I will be sharing 7 different Christmas card ideas! The cards feature some of the NEW products from the 2024 Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini catalog (aka Holiday catalog) which will launch on September 4, 2024!
A Little Bit Festive DSP
First let’s talk about the package of Designer Series Paper (DSP) called A Little Bit Festive. This DSP pack has only 6 sheets 12 x 12 inch in size. Three of the sheets of DSP are all full little die cut shapes. The shapes are already pre-cut, so you simply pop them out of the DSP. There are so many shapes that you can easily create over 30 cards! I created a total of 31 cards, and I still have a few leftover shapes to play with.
Basically, you need to create the layout, or background design, and then simply add a greeting and one of the die cut shapes as your focal point. For these cards, I am using the new Peaceful Season Bundle to create the die cut shapes for the greetings. However, you can use any stamp set or dies to create greetings for these cards.
The background layers for the sleigh card include a 2 x 4 inch piece of DSP and a 4 x 3 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Add the sleigh and greeting, then embellish as desired.
The layout for the drum card features a 4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. The greeting is layered upon a 3-3/4 x 1 inch piece of gold foil and one of the blue colored shapes from the DSP. Super simple!
The focal point for this last card is simply 4 different die cut shapes (from the DSP) layered together. Start by adding two pieces of DSP measuring 1 x 2-1/4 inches to each side of the card front. Add a 4 x 3 inch piece of embossed white cardstock and layer together the elements to create the focal point.
Wreath Cards
The next set of cards feature some of the fun wreath elements from the A Little Bit Festive DSP. For the first card, start by cutting down the striped element from the DSP to 4-1/4 inches. Add the banner and Christmas Lights wreath shapes, then stamp a greeting in the center of the wreath.
The second card idea features some DSP and embossed white cardstock in the background behind the wreath. The DSP pieces measure 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. The embossed white cardstock piece measures 2 x 3-1/2 inches. Create the background and then add the wreath shape and a greeting.
Simple Stamping
The last two card ideas feature 3-3/4 x 5 inch pieces which are pre-printed with the ornament and tree designs. Simply pop these pieces out of the A Little Bit Festive DSP and adhere them to a card front. You can stamp a greeting right on it or create your own die cut shape for the greeting. These pieces create quick and simple cards.
