Today I have a variety of different alternate card designs to share which feature the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit called Delicate Wings. The kit includes all the supplies to complete 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. However, we will focus to how to cut apart some of the supplies in the kit to create even more cards!
Paper Pumpkin Kit
The April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit includes all the supplies you need to make these three different cards! The kit also includes 9 coordinating envelopes. The gold or champagne colored foil in this kit really gives the cards such an elegant look.
I like to create one of each of the cards as featured in the kit. However, I save the rest of the supplies to create a variety of alternative designs. There are so many possibilities!
The April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit comes with three different card bases which actually have the same design printed on the front and back of the card base. This makes it so easy to cut up the card base and use it as designer paper for additional card making! So that’s exactly what I did.
Alternate Designs
These first two card ideas feature the Lost Lagoon card bases from the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit. Each card features different size pieces cut from the card bases. If you plan to cut up the card bases in the kit to use as patterned paper, you do need to use your own supplies to create additional card bases. In this case, I create my card bases with Lost Lagoon cardstock.
The first card features the use of two different card bases to create the background. Start by cutting a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece from one of the card bases with the gold splatter and adhere it to the center of a Lost Lagoon card front. Next, cut a 1 x 3-3/4 inch piece of the butterfly card base from the kit and adhere it across the bottom of the first piece. Cut a 1/4 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock and adhere it to the card as shown. Embellish with a variety of elements from the kit.
The second card layout begins with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Next, cut a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of the butterfly card base and adhere it to the right side of the card. Cut a 3 x 2 inch piece of vellum. Embellish with a butterfly and a greeting.
Thanks & Beyond Dies
For the next set of paper pumpkin alternatives, I incorporated the use of the Thanks & Beyond Die set. This particular die set is available as an add-on item which means it does not come in the kit. You can find these dies HERE. This die set also coordinates with the May and June 2024 Paper Pumpkin kits!
The first card features a bit of tone-on-tone- stamping in the background. Stamp the butterfly images around the outside of a Basic Gray card front. Add a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of vellum in the center. Cut down one of the basic gray card bases, from the kit, to 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches. Add a 3-3/4 x 3 inch piece of Moody Mauve cardstock behind the butterfly piece and adhere to the card front. Decorate the card with a variety of die cut shapes using the Thanks & Beyond Dies.
The layout for the second card features the exact same size butterfly and Moody mauve paper as the first. Simply adhere the paper to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and then adhere it to a Basic Gray card base. Add a 3-1/2 x 3 inch piece of vellum and a white die cut shape. Then decorate the card with elements from the kit.
Thank You Cards
The last set of alternate paper pumpkin designs feature the “thanks” die cut shape created with the Thanks & Beyond die set along with strips of paper cut from the card bases in the kit.
To create the first card, start with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Basic Gray cardstock. Use one of the butterfly card bases, from the kit, cut two pieces measuring 1-7/8 x 4-3/4 inches. Next, cut a 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece from one of the gold splatter card bases in the kit. Arrange the pieces on the gray cardstock as shown. Embellish with the thanks die cut shape and a little butterfly from the kit.
The second card layout is very similar to the first. However, this time I started with a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder or your favorite embossing folder. Cut two pieces of the lost lagoon colored card base from the kit at 1-7/8 x 4-1/2 inches and adhere to the embossing white cardstock as shown. Embellish as desired.
