Learn how to create a quick corner fold with patterned paper! It’s a great way to show off both sides of your patterned paper. And I have two different ways you can use this technique in your card making.
The cards feature the Latte Love Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with this card design.
Corner Fold Design
First let’s talk about the basic design for this corner fold. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper. Choose a piece of paper which has a pattern on both sides. Grab a ruler and measure in 2-1/2 inches from the top right corner and make a mark on the paper with a pencil. Next, measure down the right side of the paper, from the same corner, and make another 2-1/2 inch mark. Score the paper, diagonally, from pencil mark to pencil mark. This will create the triangular shaped corner! Simply fold the corner of the paper back onto itself and secure it with a few stampin’ dimensionals.
Adhere the patterned paper to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and then adhere to the card front. Stamp a greeting on the white cardstock and embellish as desired. It’s a super quick way to create a unique little card design.
Of course, you can use the same measurements to create this card in either portrait or landscape style.
Alternate Design
This second corner fold card design features a little larger corner section. Instead of using a 2-1/2 inch measurement, I simply increased it to 3-inches. For this corner fold, I added a layered square shape to the corner of the card. This adds a bit more depth and dimension to the corner fold design.
Start by cutting a 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 inch square from a piece of white cardstock. You can also use the Stylish Shapes Dies to create this square piece. Next, cut a 2-5/8 x 2-5/8 inch square. Adhere the squares together and add them to the corner fold section of the card. The corner fold section becomes a backdrop for the focal point of the card. You can also change the orientation of this design to create a card in portrait or landscape style.
