Looking for some simple Easter cards to make? You have come to the right place! Today I have 6 different Easter card layouts to share which feature the Excellent Eggs Bundle from Stampin’ Up! These card layouts work perfect with this bundle, but you can certainly use them with any supplies you have on hand.
Excellent Eggs
First let’s talk about the Excellent Eggs Bundle which makes up the focal point for each of the 6 card ideas. There are a variety of different die cuts shapes and stamp images you can mix and match to create some fun designs.
The patterned papers in the background come from the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper pack. The subtle colors in this paper pack are perfect for Easter. However, keep in mind you can pair up this bundle with any patterned papers!
The first card features the following layers of patterned paper and cardstock:
- 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the blue colored paper
- 3 x 4-1/2 inch piece of the yellow colored paper
- 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of embossed white cardstock
- 2-1/2 x 3/4 inch piece of white cardstock for the greeting
The layers for the second card feature a large rectangular shape cut from a piece of white cardstock using the Scalloped Contours Dies. Add a 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper to the right side of the card front before adding the rectangular shape. Of course, you can decorate the focal point with any supplies you have on hand.
Using Up Scraps
The next set of Easter cards feature some fun ways to create a background for your card using cardstock scraps. No patterned paper on either of these two cards. The color combination of Lemon Lolly, Pool Party and Highland Heather work so well together.
The first card is simply three different colors of cardstock cut to 3/4 x 5-1/2 inches. Each piece is embossed with one of the Fun Patterns embossing folders. Create the focal point using two different egg shapes, the little bunny and a greeting.
The second card idea features a few zig zag chevron die cut pieces in the background. Use the Excellent Eggs dies and a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock to create the chevron design. Such a fun way to create a subtle background for the card.
Embossed Background
The use of any embossing folder in the background of a card is such a great way to add depth and dimension. The texture in the background is subtle and doesn’t take away from the images and die cut shapes which make up the focal point for each of these Easter cards.
The first card features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock embossed with the Fun Patterns embossing folder. The embossing on the second card is right on the card front.
