The Tri Fold card design is a super simple fun fold card to make! There are two folds which create three panels for you to decorate! It’s such a great way to show off your patterned papers. And I have two different ways you can use this fun fold design in your card making.
The cards feature a variety of products from the A Little Latte Collection which is a NEW Online Exclusive from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with this fun fold design.
Tri Fold Design
First let’s talk about how to create the Tri Fold card base. Start with a 5-1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 11-inch side at 4-1/8 and 8-3/8 inches to create the base of the card! Now that you have the measurements for the card base, the sky is the limit with how to decorate it!
For these cards, I am featuring some of the new products from the A Little Latte collection. The patterned paper is so fun to play with and this card design is such a great way to showcase it. However, keep in mind you can use any supplies to decorate your Tri Fold card.
The first picture gives you an idea of how the card looks when closed. It is a standard size card measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches when closed. When you open up the front panel of the card, it exposes the middle section (the second picture). It’s a great place to add a few more panels of patterned paper, images or even a little sentiment. The last picture showcases some fun ways to decorate the inside of the card. Be sure to download the tutorial to get all the paper measurements and additional details.
Landscape Style
One of my favorite things about this Tri Fold card design is that you can decorate it in portrait or landscape style! The measurements for creating the card base are exactly the same. Simply create the card base as described previously. You can decorate the card in portrait style, so it opens from left to right. Or you can turn the card base horizontally and decorate in landscape style, so it opens from top to bottom. Changing the orientation of the card base, before decorating it, is a great way to give your card a whole new look!
This Tri Fold card is decorated in landscape style. The first picture shows the front of the card. The second picture shows what the middle section of the card looks like when you lift up the top panel. The third picture showcases the inside of the card as the top and bottom panels are open. This Tri Fold design gives you three different panels to decorate. And I decorated everything!
