Nature’s Sweetness Card Ideas

Today I have 6 simple card ideas to share featuring a variety of products from the Nature’s Sweetness Suite from Stampin’ Up! In particular, I will be playing with the Lovely & Sweet Bundle, Notes of Nature Bundle and the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper. However, keep in mind you can use these card layouts with any supplies you have on hand.

Nature’s Sweetness DSP

Let’s start out by creating a few simple card layouts with a focus on the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper. The papers featured sketched images of various plants, re-creations of pages from vintage almanacs and field journals, as well as a few basic patterns. Some designs include gold foil for added beauty. The paper really is stunning when you see it in person. For these first couple of cards, I really let the paper do all the work as I am using the sketches in the DSP to create the focal point.

The plant sketch on the first card is cut right from the DSP so it’s centered within a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece. Stamp a few images from the Notes of Nature or Lovely and Sweet set on the DSP using Pecan Pie. Adhere the DSP to a Pecan Pie card base. Add a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of one of the gold DSP patterns and a little greeting.

The second card features a different plant sketch cut from the DSP. This time I cut the DSP down to 3 x 4 inches so the sketch was centered within it. Stamp a variety of images on the front of a Pebbled Path card base. Once you have a fun stamped background, adhere the plant sketch to the right side of the card front. Add a greeting, any die cut shapes and embellishments.

Lovely & Sweet

The next two card ideas showcase the Nature’s Sweetness DSP as well as images from the Lovely & Sweet Bundle. You can create the focal point by stamping the large plant image or cutting it from the DSP.

The first card features a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP on the left side of the card front. Stamp the large plant image on a scrap piece of white cardstock using Pecan Pie ink. Cut out the image with the coordinating die and adhere to the card front. Cut a 2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of a different DSP pattern. Stamp some images on the DSP, tear the edge and sponge a bit of Pecan Pie ink on the torn edge. Adhere to the card front and embellish as desired.

The second card idea features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the beautiful gray and gold patterned paper in the background. Cut a 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of a lighter DSP pattern. Stamp a few different images on it using Pebbled Path and Pecan Pie ink. Tear the right side of this piece and sponge some Pecan pie ink on the torn edge. Use the notebook style die from the Notes of Nature Bundle to add the holes in the DSP. Cut out one of the gray plant images from a piece of the Nature’s Sweetness DSP and use it as a focal point on the card.

Using Up Scraps

The last two card ideas feature some fun ways to use up scrap piece of the Nature’s Sweetness DSP. I often have some scraps left over while I’m creating so I like to use them up right away. As such, these cards feature a few of the scraps mixed in with some large pieces of DSP.

The first card features a bit of stamping on the left side of the card front before adhering a 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP to the right side. Add a 2-1/4 x 4 inch piece of DSP to the center of the card front. Create a little plant focal point by cutting it directly out of a piece of DSP. Use up a 3 x 3/4 inch piece of a scrap piece of DSP behind the greeting. So pretty!

The second card is similar as I did a bit of stamping in the background before adhering a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP to the right side of the card. Add a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of DSP to the center of the card. Stamp a plant image for the focal point. Use up any scraps to highlight your greeting and embellish as desired.
